The Invincible[1] theme refers to a set of themes spread across the Kirby series that play when Kirby or one of his friends eats an Invincible Candy. The original theme from Kirby's Dream Land was composed by Jun Ishikawa.

Description

In most variations of the theme, a high tempo and swift beat are used to convey the speed and power granted by the Invincible Candy, as the player only has invincibility for a few moments before Kirby returns to mortality. The main motif is a 16-beat melody that repeats until the invincibility wears off. Most titles simply loop their version of the 16-beat melody with no variation in repeating beats, although starting in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, some notes in the song were altered in the repeated melody to add more uniqueness. This uniqueness added to certain notes comes to a head in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, where the song doesn't repeat itself until after four 16-beats have played.

While most games in the series use the same motif, the Invincible theme in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards and Kirby Mass Attack use entirely original songs, composed by Jun Ishikawa and Shogo Sakai respectively. The Invincible theme in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards similarly uses a 16-beat melody, using a more powerful tone than speedy. On the other hand, in contrast with most previous Invincible themes, Kirby Mass Attack uses two 16-beat melodies playing at a noticeably lower tempo. This version of the Invincible theme goes for a more chipper and calm tone, compared to the more frantic and speedy tone that most other Invincible themes display, most likely to coincide with the calmer nature of Kirby Mass Attack.
