"Underground Stage"[Japanese title] is the name of a musical piece which was first heard in various stages from Kirby's Adventure. It is not associated with any one level or stage, instead appearing in several different ones.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land[edit]

Kirby goes spelunking in a water-filled underground cave.

In both Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, the theme is used in Grape Garden - Stage 3 and Yogurt Yard - Stage 2. Exclusively in the original Kirby's Adventure, the theme also plays in Vegetable Valley - Stage 2.

In the Sound Test of Kirby's Adventure, it can be found as Music 0F. In the Sound Test of Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, the theme can be found as Music 10.

Kirby's Avalanche[edit]

A faithful arrangement of the theme serves as the third main stage theme of Kirby's Avalanche, playing in hard stages. It was arranged by Einosuke Nagao.

Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]

In The Great Cave Offensive of Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra, an adventurous arrangement of the theme plays in the cart track areas. It is led by a mix of strings and woodwinds, and backed by brass and timpan.

Kirby: Canvas Curse[edit]

"Machine Mansion" from Kirby: Canvas Curse by Jun Ishikawa.

In Kirby: Canvas Curse, a slow-paced, electronic arrangement of the theme plays in Machine Mansion. It was done by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

When the "Old School" sound mode is selected, the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land arrangement plays in Mag Mount and Volatile Volcano.

Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]

"Machine Mansion" from Kirby: Canvas Curse is reused in Overload Ocean - Stage 7 EX of Kirby: Planet Robobot. It can be found as track 116 in the Jukebox.

Other appearances[edit]

The theme was included in the Kirby's Adventure soundtrack CD. There, it also appears in the vocal arrangement 星のカービィ (Kirby of the Stars), a medley arranged by Takashi Takaomi.
