Sodory[Japanese title] is an enemy featured in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, New Challenge Stages, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe, and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe and grants the Sword ability when swallowed.

Sodory is a living sword enemy, with an eye in the hilt and wings in place of the cross-guard. It spends its idle time with its blade embedded softly in the ground, but can quickly swing about when it spots an intruder. Its reach can be quite good, so dealing with it is a priority to avoid getting slashed.

Sodory returns in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, but, interestingly enough, is only encountered in Dedede's Drum Dash, where it serves as an obstacle to be avoided. It has also appeared in Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe, with the same role it had in the original Sub-Game.

Sodory reappears in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, albeit only as an obstacle in the Dedede's Drum Dash Sub-Game. In this game, instead of sticking to the ground, Sodory is in midair and slashes sideways to the beat. It is often in synchronization with a partner Sodory, blocking the way of the player's movement.
