Patched Plains - Stage 5 is the fifth stage of Patched Plains in Kirby: Planet Robobot. This stage is unlocked after clearing Stage 4 and collecting at least four Code Cubes in Patched Plains. This stage serves as the boss stage for the level, and pits Kirby against Clanky Woods. After clearing this stage, Kirby can move on to Resolution Road.

The stage begins with Kirby passing through a series of tubes on his way down to the boss door. As he moves, he will pass Bandana Waddle Dee who will give him an Assist Star and pass by Copy Essences containing the Spark, Doctor, and Cutter abilities.

Main article: Clanky Woods

The boss arena consists of a platform high in the air which is a semi-circular path with a hole in the back. Clanky Woods hops out of this hole and challenges Kirby to battle. The fight with Clanky Woods takes place in three phases. In the first, it is a straightforward battle where Kirby needs to dodge Clanky Woods' drill attacks and missiles and retaliate with these objects if applicable. This phase can end rather quickly as Clanky Woods tumbles into the central hole, then re-emerges on a big screw platform, which he unwinds to complete the circular platform and initiate the second phase, where the arena loops on itself.

During this second phase, Clanky Woods uses most of his attacks from phase 1, but also adds a few charging attacks across the loop. After Clanky Woods loses more health, phase 3 begins as he hops onto the central screw and spins it to make walls surround Kirby and trap him in a confined space. From here, the mechanical tree starts using new attacks, including firing missiles that come at Kirby from the side and throwing pieces of its canopy at him that can be knocked back. Once Clanky Woods' health is depleted, he explodes internally and is left to sit disabled and crying coolant as Kirby performs his victory dance.
