— Figure description from Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Pencil Drill is an Evolved Copy Ability based on Drill that appears in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. With this ability equipped, Kirby gains a large pencil sharpener for a hat with a short pencil stuck inside pointing outward. When Kirby digs out of the ground using this ability, he shoots the pencil as a projectile for extra damage.
The blueprint for this ability can be found in the stage Danger under the Big Top, rewarded after defeating Clawroline. This ability is required to play the Treasure Road stage Dig and Dash! Path of Fences.
All attack names are taken from the Kirby and the Forgotten Land Perfect Support Guide unless otherwise stated.
|Pencil Drill moveset
|Kirby burrows underground and is able to move under the ground, becoming immune to most enemy attacks and being able to reach previously unreachable areas. Called モコモコいどう (Lumpy Movement) while Kirby is underground. Called 水しぶき (Water Splash) when used on the surface of water.
Burst Up Drill
|Release B after Dig, or use Dig for too long
|Kirby jumps out of the ground pencil first. This will also shoot a pencil projectile in a tight arc upwards.
|Create a loop with Dig
|The area of ground inside the loop will erupt upwards. The larger the loop, the more damage it deals. Enemies caught inside the loop will not move until they are hit.

|Press B in midair
|Kirby drills in front of him, creating a small pencil-shaped projectile that travels a short distance and lingers for a bit.
|Tilt L-Stick + hold B in midair
|Kirby drills ahead of him, diving downwards until he reaches the ground, after which he burrows into the ground like Dig. This leaves behind a trail of pencil sharpenings which can deal damage.
