Medal Swap
“ | Use medals at the Medal Swap. Medals hide everywhere. Swap them for prizes! | ” | — caption from Kirby: Canvas Curse after obtaining the first Medal |
Medal Swap is a feature of Kirby: Canvas Curse, comparable to the Collection Room of previous titles. Medal Swap is accessible from the game mode menu and is available for browsing immediately. The rewards are not labeled prior to unlocking. Medals unlocked elsewhere in the game are used in Medal Swap to buy new Rainbow Lines, Songs, Life Boosts, Special Courses, and character balls.[1]
Menu[edit]
The interface of Medal Swap is structured as a long drop-down list. The gray areas denote a reward that has been unlocked for purchase. The field of it breaks up more as medals are spent to obtain the reward.[2] Solid blue fields indicate rewards that require a certain condition to be met before becoming available for purchase.[3][4] The smaller field with a double digit number and appearance of a coin slot is where medals are deposited to pay towards the desired reward. Each tap on the slot costs one medal.[5] Once deposited, medals can not be refunded. The text will not be visible until the item is bought.
Inventory[edit]
The basic breakdown of the rewards are as follows:
- Songs - Music that can be played in the Sound Test of the Options menu.
- Lines - New lines replacing the Rainbow Line, can be toggled at the Options Menu at any time.
- Life Boost - Adds one more bar to Kirby's health.
- Courses - Adds a new Special Course for play in Rainbow Run.
- Balls - Adds the option to use a new character ball[6] in the Main Game and regular courses of Rainbow Run.
