The Haunted Ship is the second stage of the level Indigo Ocean in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. In this stage, Kirby infiltrates a grounded pirate ship which is full of Dethskullks to plunder its treasures.
Completing the stage unlocks Kirby Submarine's Torpedo Time.
Overview[edit]
The stage begins out on a beach overlooking a massive pirate ship in the background. Just to the right is a Launch Cannon which will take Kirby to the ship, though he ought to look around the beach before getting in.
Kirby falls from the sky past several Dethskullks that just barely notice him. Kirby crashes down into a room in the ship, where two more Dethskullks lay in wait. These guys are fatal to the touch, so Kirby should avoid them at all costs. To the left is a key behind a shutter that can be opened with a switch to the right. After getting the key, another gate can be unlocked in the floor to the right to move forward through an underwater chamber. There is a treasure chest in this area to look for as well.
The next room is partially flooded, bent into a wavy hall with two more Dethskullks laying in wait. Kirby will need to traverse this hall to get another key, then head back to unlock the gate to the door on the left.
From there, Kirby finds himself in a much larger space, separated into sections by walls and thin floors. There are a number of keys here, along with Candy in various places. While under the effect of the candy, Kirby can defeat the Dethskullks, though both they and the candy will reappear after a while. To the lower-right, Kirby can find the way out past some locked gates, but one of the keys is behind a wall and inaccessible. Once the other keys have been collected and used, this last key is taken by the Dethskullk King, who then pursues Kirby. Kirby can use the candy to defeat the Dethskullk King and collect his key, allowing him to leave the ship using another cannon. Before he does that, however, there are two treasure chests to find in this area.
After a lengthy launch, Kirby ends up back outside the ship, and will need to pass underneath a waterfall coming off of a big stack of crates before reaching the roulette wheel at the end of the stage. The waterfall hides a secret.
