Challenge 42 is the forty-second stage of Challenge Mode in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. It is unlocked by defeating Hooplagoon in Yellow Dunes without taking any damage.

Overview

Challenge 42 is a One-Minute Challenge, divided into four rooms with 15 seconds per room. The rooms are as follows:

Room	Description	Notes
Room 1	This room's chest is guarded by two lasers firing perpendicularly to each-other, thus interfering with each-other at the point they intersect. Blocking one will cause the other to fire further, so Kirby will need to be mindful of that as he approaches the chest.
Room 2	In this room, Kirby will need to hit a Bomb Block toward the left which is holding up five Grindarrs. He will then need to quickly escape to the right as the Grindarrs fall, then move up and over them to the left as more Grindarrs fall from above. The treasure chest will fall alongside this upper row of Grindarrs, falling along the right wall.	This room is a mirror image of Room 11 in Challenge 16.
Room 3	This room features six light panels scattered around the place, along with some barrier floors. One of these is already lit. A specific path can be taken to ensure that all get lit without having to revisit any areas.
Room 4	The chest in this room is contained behind a locked shutter. Kirby will have to wrestle with a Grinkey to open the gate.
