Barbar[from internal data] is an invincible enemy first encountered in the Onion Ocean level in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.

Barbar resembles a giant eel-like creature and can come in various sizes, some of which are truly gigantic. They reside exclusively in the water, embedded in walls, ceilings, floors, or sometimes in pits in water currents, and at regular intervals will lunge outward in an attempt to swallow any passing swimmers.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land[edit]

Barbar debuted in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. If a character is caught inside of a Barbar's mouth, the player will need to shake the Wii Remote to escape. Regardless of how quickly the escape is made, however, being swallowed and spat out will usually result in losing whatever Copy Ability Kirby may have had.

A relative of the Barbar, the Iron Barbar, lives exclusively in the Dangerous Dinner stage on Halcandra, and lies in wait in lava beds.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]

Barbar also makes an appearance in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, reprising its role from its previous appearance. In that game, it will often lunge further, though slower, and can appear in the background lunging into the foreground.

Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]

Barbar reappears in Kirby: Planet Robobot, functioning the same as it did in its previous appearances.
