Barbar

Barbar[Japanese title] is a gigantic aquatic eel-like creature who likes to reside in holes in the wall and reach out to try and eat Kirby and his friends if they try to swim past. All Barbars are large, though some are bigger than others, a few much so. Barbar is completely invulnerable to attack, so it must be treated as a course obstacle to avoid rather than something to fight. If Kirby gets sucked into its mouth, the player needs to shake the controller or mash the stick to get Kirby out again.
Barbar first appeared in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, and has since reappeared in a handful of other 2.5-D Kirby games. It has a few relatives, namely the Hypernova-inhalable Land Barbar and the lava-dwelling Iron Barbar.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]
Barbar debuted in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, first appearing (and primarily being found in) stages in Onion Ocean. It also appears in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
A relative of the Barbar, the Iron Barbar, lives exclusively in stages 1 and 3 of Dangerous Dinner on Halcandra, and lies in wait in lava beds.
