That mecha-snake swimming around this island is called Steelsnapper. If you get gulped down, don't give up. It takes him a while to digest anything. If a Kirby gets lodged in his stomach, you have time to pry him back out. So be sure to have a lot of Kirbys when you take on that snake.
— Daroach, in Kirby Mass Attack

Steelsnapper is a Mid-Boss in Kirby Mass Attack. He appears in Dedede Resort - Stage 6, in an underwater chamber. Steelsnapper is a large mechanical snake-like creature with a spiked head, ten metal segments which can bear spikes, and the ability to shoot torpedoes, which are capable of destroying metal blocks. He can also suck in water, storing anything he eats inside his segments, including Kirbys. To defeat Steelsnapper, the Kirbys will have to latch onto and destroy each of the segments while they don't have spikes on them. Steelsnapper will make doing this difficult, however, as he can burrow into the walls. Defeating Steelsnapper confers 3,000 points onto the player.

Steelsnapper appears again in Survival Rush, behind the three-Kirby door.

Miscellaneous flavor text[edit]

  • "The Steelsnapper spits torpedoes. You may have already found that out the hard way. It's said that the Steelsnapper hides things inside clams. Its treasure must be in one of them!" --Daroach, in Kirby Mass Attack
  • "I heard that some big, mechanical snake has gotten loose hereabouts. I wouldn't want to tangle with that mecha-monster." --Daroach, in Kirby Mass Attack
