Still Life is a Friend Ability present in Kirby Star Allies. To perform it, Artist Kirby or Vividria need simply to hold their brush up for long enough to initiate the move. Done successfully, they will proceed to get out a canvas and paint a pink Kirby-themed refrigerator on it. Once finished, the fridge opens up and spits out a number of different food items which can be used to recover health. How many food items created depends on how many allies are with the user.

This move can be used without limit, but it has a 30-second cooldown, preventing it from being used in rapid succession. This timer also does not advance while in the lobby of The Ultimate Choice. In addition, the food produced from it recovers less health than real food.

Al Fresco[edit]

Activating Al Fresco in Kirby Star Allies.

The Dream Friend Adeleine & Ribbon can use their version of this Friend Ability called Al Fresco. Instead of the refrigerator, Adeleine draws the Bonus Game from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Unlike Still Life, the food produced by this ability is always the same; these are the onigiri, square-cut sandwich, sparerib, and strawberry shortcake slice. These food items are the same as the ones seen in the Bonus Game in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, and each represent the favored foods of Kirby and his friends from that game. In addition to food, Al Fresco also creates Point Stars, even in The Ultimate Choice.

The name "Al Fresco" is derived from outdoor dining (sometimes referred to as "al fresco") and painting on a canvas with freshly laid lime plaster, a technique also called "al fresco."

Trivia[edit]

  • There is a glitch associated with the Al Fresco version of this move which causes the canvas to get stuck on Adeleine indefinitely instead of disappearing. This glitch is purely visual, and has no effect on gameplay. More details can be found on this page.
