Wing is a Copy Ability which debuted in Kirby Super Star. It allows Kirby to fly quickly through the air, as well as performing several graceful wing attacks.
Kirby's visual appearance changes by adding a feather headdress and marks under his eyes (though the marks have not been seen since Kirby Super Star Ultra).

Kirby obtains the Wing ability through the enemy Birdon or a Copy Essence. With the Wing ability equipped, Kirby can create Birdon as a helper in Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra.

The Wing ability appears in Kirby Air Ride, and can be obtained from the enemy Flappy. When Kirby gains this ability, he temporarily eschews his Air Ride Machine and flies with the ability along the race track at high speed. While in possession of the ability, Kirby gains considerable agility and flight power, and can perform a spinning dive when using a Quick Spin, though he loses access to the boost technique. After a short time, Kirby loses this ability and returns to normal.
Meta Knight has permanent access to flight in a similar fashion to the Wing ability.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land
The Wing ability reappears in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, where it is acquired from a Wing Copy Essence or from the Owgulf enemy. It is the final Copy Ability to be introduced in normal gameplay, as the first Owgulf does not appear until Nutty Noon, although it can be acquired earlier on by Mixing abilities or from the Wing Copy Essence found in Cookie Country's HAL Room. Compared to Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra, Wing's attacks are stronger and, like many Copy Abilities in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, many of its moves render Kirby invulnerable to a greater degree than in previous games.

Kirby's Dream Collection
Wing Kirby makes an appearance in the sub-game New Challenge Stages, where it functions identically to the way it did in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe
Wing returns in this game, more-or-less the same as it was in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. Birdon reappears to provide the ability.
Kirby Star Allies
“ | There's no better feeling than taking your friends soaring through the skies on your back, controlling the winds at will. Charge up weapons with gusts of wind to create a great air current and shoot up to the heavens! | ” | — Kirby Star Allies pause caption |
Wing returns in this title, along with Birdon as a Friend Helper. Wing can imbue other abilities with the Bluster element. Aside from this, it remains relatively unchanged from its appearance in Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
Super Smash Bros. series trophy information
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
"Kirby when he inhales a winged enemy and copies its flying ability. This ability can be used to proceed through strong winds that would otherwise be too tough to overcome. Wing Kirby can also perform a plethora of attack moves, such as the Bomber Heading, where Kirby dive-bombs onto enemy heads."
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
"Kirby doesn't need to copy abilities to bop through the air, but actually having wings gives his aerial skills a definite boost. They even let him use some extra attacks, like the acrobatic Shuttle Loop and the mighty Condor Head. He can also fire at foes with his Feather Gun! Thought Kirby was just a squishy puffball? Surprise!"

Trivia
- Originally, the hat for the Wing Ability also changed Kirby's cheek marks, turning them into two parallel red lines often associated with various Plains Indian tribes. This feature is present on Wing Kirby's sprites in Kirby Super Star and its remake, along with various 3-D depictions. Starting with Kirby Air Ride and more concretely by Kirby's Return to Dream Land, this aspect of the hat was removed, likely to appease concerns that the costume was appropriating said cultures.
