This article is about Waddle Dees who wield a spear. For Waddle Dees in a general context, see Waddle Dee.

A Spear Waddle Dee is a spear-wielding enemy encountered in the Kirby series. However, as they have yet to appear in a title where Kirby can use the Spear ability, they do not grant said ability when swallowed. Despite this pointy implement in their hands, Spear Waddle Dees are not too much more threatening than standard ones, as most don't seem to know how to use it. This variety of Waddle Dee made their first game appearance in Kirby: Canvas Curse.

Waddle Dees carrying spears were first seen in the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! anime, as the guards for King Dedede. This eventually carried over to their first appearance in the video game series, starting with Kirby: Canvas Curse.

Spear Waddle Dee debuts in this title, and can be seen among regular Waddle Dees in various places. They will attempt to toss their spears at Kirby, but cannot throw them very far. As such, they are more dangerous from above than in any other direction.

Kirby Super Star Ultra

KSSU Spear Waddle Dee Sprite.png Spear Waddle Dee appears in this title, specifically in Revenge of the King, in the levels Crash Clouds and The Revenge. Spear Waddle Dees can be seen patrolling the halls of the castle with their spears aimed either forward or upward. All this really succeeds in doing, however, is extending their reach somewhat, as they do not know how to thrust with the spears. Some Parasol Waddle Dees can also be seen with spears.

Spear Waddle Dees appear in these titles. They behave much like the normal ones, but carry a spear ahead of themselves when walking, which will cause Kirby or Prince Fluff to lose beads if they touch the tip. The spear can be grabbed using the Yarn Whip and wrapped up into an arrow-shaped yarn ball which can penetrate through enemies when thrown.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

While not appearing as an enemy proper in this title, Waddle Dees carrying spears can be seen in the opening cut-scene, attempting to guard King Dedede from Taranza's magic.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

Spear Waddle Dees make an appearance in Kirby 3D Rumble. They stand in place, and attempt to toss their spears at Kirby, creating Recoil Stars where the spears land. They are further distinguished from standard Waddle Dees by their yellow fur.

Spear Waddle Dees, along with Sectra Dee variants, can also be seen in the standalone version of this sub-game, Kirby's Blowout Blast, although with orange fur this time.

Kirby Battle Royale

A special variant of Spear Waddle Dee exists in this title, called Soldier Waddle Dee. While they are not playable, they can be faced in Dedede's Cake Royale, and fight similarly to Spear Kirby.

Notable Spear-wielding Waddle Dees
