Throw is one of the rarer Copy Abilities in Kirby series and one of the few which feature Inhale in order to capture an enemy, Star Block or defeated mid-boss. After capturing one of mentioned, Kirby is eligible to throw it in any of the 6 directions of Kirby's range and is invincible until he throws it (while dealing a large amount of damage to the enemy touching the captured object in Kirby's hand until thrown). Thrown object will fly over the screen without changing direction and explode if collides with a solid object. It will also go through and damage enemies, mid-bosses or bosses, and destroy blocks including even the Metal Blocks in its path. While enemies rather do not, Star Blocks transform into Star Bullets after inhaled. This attack can do a large amount of damage despite being only move of the ability.
Throw is in concept similar to Backdrop while in looks extremely similar to Suplex, where Throw ability gives Kirby a slightly lighter blue headband than the other.
Game appearances
Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
In Throw's debut game Kirby's Adventure, Throw Kirby doesn't have any outfit like many other abilities. In this game, Throw ability is obtained from Rolling Turtle, a turtle Mid-Boss who attacks Kirby by grabbing Kirby to throw him, or throwing turtle minions which can be swallowed and spit back.
In the remake Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, Throw Kirby first gets his blue headband. Rolling Turtle is replaced by Phan Phan, another Mid-Boss who attacks Kirby in a similar fashion to Rolling Turtle but throws apples as projectiles instead.
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
In Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Kirby still obtains the Throw ability from the Mid-Boss Phan Phan like in the previous title. While in this game Normal Kirby's Inhale ability stops after a few seconds, Throw Kirby's inhale can be used indefinitely.
Kirby: Squeak Squad
In [[Kirby: Squeak Squad|Template:KSS KMA]], Kirby can obtain the Throw ability from the common enemy Bun. If Throw Kirby tries to inhale a major member of Squeak Squad, it will stun them and make them drop any Treasure Chest they happen to be holding, as if attempted with a regular Inhale ability. Throw can also take on an element with an Ability Scroll if the enemy gives an ability related to the fire, ice or electric elements.
Unlike in other games it appears, Throw here gains a new idle animation: Kirby holds his arms in a fighting pose, while his headband blows in the wind, similar to the idle animation of Fighter Kirby.
In Kirby: Right Back at Ya!

“ | Of course! I should have known! That is Throw Kirby! Throw Kirby grabs his enemy, and tosses him around like a beach ball! | ” | — Meta Knight, in Cowardly Creature |
Throw Kirby makes a single appearance in Kirby: Right Back at Ya! in the episode Cowardly Creature. Kirby gains this ability after inhaling one of the large spike balls tossed at him by Phan Phan while it is possessed by Whippy. Using this ability, Kirby inhales to grab Whippy, and then proceeds to toss him around before finally launching him into outer space with a "tornado throw".

Trivia
- In Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Throw Kirby deals 12 damage per hit (both the holding process and the projectile), which can easily defeat Dark Meta Knight in Radish Ruins (60 HP, defeated by Throw in exactly 5 hits) and Dimension Mirror (48 HP, defeated by Throw in exactly 4 hits).[1][2]
- Kirby is also able to capture inhalable thrown objects such as the Meta-Knights' weapons.
