Hello[edit]

Grettings, MetaDragon. I notice you've been uploading various pictures relating to anime content. I myself am working to fill out the episode pages, and I figure we can get more done quicker if we coordinate our efforts. As such, I would like to invite you to the Discord server, so we can strategize more directly. Please follow this link to get there: Discord. --Samwell (talk) 23:21, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Personal image request[edit]

Hey hey, can you put your personal image on your userpage so it doesn't appear in Special:UnusedFiles? Thanks in advance! Superbound (talk) 11:12, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

Ah, sorry about that. I'll go ahead and work on my userpage so I can place it there. My thanks for the reminder. -- Jellytost (talk) 23:33, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Again. Superbound (talk) 15:57, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
My bad. I'll get to that. -- Jellytost (talk) 19:54, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

User redirects[edit]

FYI, the redirects in userspace are most likely redirects made after renaming a user, and should not be deleted. Superbound (talk) 08:16, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

I myself see no need in keeping them, since they are redirects to userpages. Only one that seems needed for now is Fubaka. Mind sharing why you think we should not delete them? -- Jellytost (talk) 08:22, 21 November 2020‎ (UTC)
In default signatures, for example, it redirects to their current userpage and talkpage, rather than nothing, which helps in communication. Also, why only Fubaka, but not others, like LBDCOM12? Superbound (talk) 08:34, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Oh, I see. My apologies. Two have already been deleted before... I'll try to see if they can be restored. I suppose all of them are important enough to keep. Fubaka just seemed more important, since it had been used for a few years. I will no longer mark these for deletion. Thanks for the heads up. -- Jellytost (talk) 04:15, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
That's alright. Out of these two, User:Kirbo was created artificially bu user and not by renaming, so I guess that deletion was fine. Superbound (talk) 10:15, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
I can recreate the redirects if needed. -- Jellytost (talk) 18:19, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

Novel Characters[edit]

Hello, I just wanted to ask, it is possible to create pages for other novel characters like Princess Marona or Kizario?AnnieCat07 (talk) 22:52, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Yes it is! Though those were planned to be created along with their respective novel volume pages--I'll probably be making them soon. Also, I believe I've seen you over on Kirby FANDOM? If so, then hi! If not, then hi still. :P -- Jellytost (talk) 23:14, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Rabiroo[edit]

While I agree the name similiarity is likely a coincidince the "The little one? That's Rabiroo" is intrestingly similar to the line in show https://avatar.fandom.com/wiki/Transcript:The_Tales_of_Ba_Sing_Se "Oh, that's a rabaroo"

its unlikey it would be known for sure if it is an obscure refrence or not.99.92.61.189 20:36, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Yeah, I think it's most likely a coincidence that's not really worth noting. Rabbits and kangaroos are both animals known for jumping, after all. StarPunch (talk) 22:09, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
If I had to guess, both creatures had a similar idea going on when they were created. They're both meant to resemble a combo of a rabbit / kangaroo, but I don't think that necessarily means that this is a reference. -- Jellytost (talk) 22:11, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
Yep, not every similar name is necessarily a reference, especially with two media series that have absolutely nothing in common. It's even more unlikely considering these are two super obscure things from each. –Vipz (talk · edits) 22:17, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Userbox[edit]

Hi its me, SpeedOfKirb again! I was trying to make a userbox to say i was autoconfirmed couse i cant figure out the badge and it would not work, so i am here to ask, can you fix it? I actualy dont want the badge cause i think this is more fun, so anyway, here it is

KatFL Waddle Dee artwork.png This User Is Autoconfirmed!

SpeedOfKirb38000 (talk) 21:29, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Sure, I can do that for you! There's actually not a badge for Autoconfirmed, so this is just fine. -- Jellytost (talk) 21:30, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
There, I fixed it for you in your message, copy it now. –Vipz (talk · edits) 21:32, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
It has been done. Feel free to copy and paste the fixed code above as well for future userboxes. -- Jellytost (talk) 21:34, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
SpeedOfKirb38000, what you did is that you forgot to close the File brackets, and 300px image is too big for a userbox (usually you want to make it 50px or smaller). Thanks MetaDragon, sorry for meddling in, it's your talk page, carry on. –Vipz (talk · edits) 21:36, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
Not a problem. :P -- Jellytost (talk) 21:38, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Administrator[edit]

Greetings, MetaDragon. On behalf of Gigi, and as thanks for your dedicated work both on the wiki and in its community, I would like to formally offer you the position of Administrator. This promotion will put you in the most senior echelon of staffdom, and grant you many additional powers and responsibilities, including the following:

  1. Protect/unprotect pages: They can lock a page from editing if it is the subject of controversy and edit wars, or if it repeatedly vandalized. User pages are generally not protected barring special conditions.
  2. Delete/undelete pages: They have the ability to delete pages in accordance with the deletion policy. Pages are usually not deleted unless they have no relevance.
  3. Block/unblock users: If a user is deemed to be a vandal or is repeatedly creating conflicts and problems, an administrator can block the user to prevent them from editing. Most blocks are temporary and depend on the length of the offense. For specific policy, see the block policy page.
  4. Hide revisions of a page which are inappropriate: Sometimes, vandals insert swears into articles or create other problems that are inappropriate for viewing. Administrators have the ability to hide these revisions in the history of the page.
  5. Change user rights: Administrators have the ability to grant higher ranks to users up to Patroller. Promotions to Patroller should be verified by Bureaucrats.

I knew one day this would come, and I've chosen this day in particular to make this offer because it's the second anniversary of the day you first joined the wiki. Gigi and I believe in you, and you are still free to lean on us for support whenever it is necessary. What do you say? --Samwell (talk) 19:12, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

Of course! It would be an honor, sir. I really appreciate y'all believing in me, and it was nice of you to pick out today for this whole thing. I'll be sure to do my absolute best for WiKirby and its wonderful community! My time here with everyone for the past two years has been incredible... having the opportunity to watch the place flourish and getting to know people like you. I can't wait to see where the wiki and all of us will go from here, and I could not be more happy to continue contributing to all this. :) -- Jellytost (talk) 20:40, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
Very good, very good. Enjoy the new powers, and maybe wait a day or two before you launch a coup and make yourself the next dictator. :P --Samwell (talk) 20:44, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

Kirby Meets the Squeak Squad![edit]

Since it's been a long time since you've added to it, would it be okay if I take over working on Kirby Meets the Squeak Squad!? (I asked on Discord too, but I realized you might respond quicker here) --DeepFriedCabbage 21:04, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

I'm very passionate about the project, but I do realize my motivation for it has dwindled over time with what's been going on in my life lately. I think you'd do great with it, but that's honestly something I'll have to give some thought to first. Thanks for the work you've done so far in other areas of the project by the way. -- Jellytost (talk) 02:24, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
No problem! I've intentionally worked on all the other areas first so you'd have more time on this. I'm really passionate about the project too, but I wouldn't mind if you wanted to finish this one yourself. --DeepFriedCabbage 00:51, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

With how exhausted you've been, would you like to let me finish that article now? (Don't feel bad at all- if you're lacking the energy and motivation, you deserve a break. You can let me know anytime if you want to jump right back into the project) --DeepFriedCabbage 21:47, 10 October 2022 (UTC)

I've been thinking about this for a while, so sorry for how late this response is, but I really didn't know what to say. At first, when I started the novel project, I wanted it to be "my thing", because I wanted something I could be proud of and praised for, for once. I remember being annoyed when others made even the smallest changes to the novel pages, because I wanted it to be "my thing", not out of spite for the community or other staff members, just because I was desperate to be appreciated.
It's taken a lot of self-reflection and interaction with this community and its staff, but I think I've come to a conclusion. I don't want the novel project to just be "my thing" anymore, because (1) doing every single novel page was always overwhelming for me, and (2) that isn't what WiKirby is about. WiKirby is about the community and staff at large, working together to make something special. So, yeah, you can go ahead and finish the current novel article I was setting up. The installment I was working on itself wasn't that interesting to me, so I started to drag with it. I thought I should just work my way up from the first novel to the second, third, etc, but I think for me personally, I might do better choosing specific ones I want to read and write about.
So, go right ahead. You can keep the writing I already had and build off of it or put your own there instead. I'm very proud that I could start this project, and that several people started taking interest in it with me. It puts a smile on my face to see the novels getting more recognition and to see WiKirby having coverage of it--seeing editors have passion for something I built the foundation for. I hope to continue contributing to it in a way that works for me when I can, and for anyone else to feel welcome to help, too. ❤
-- Jellytost (talk) 23:30, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
Also, my sandbox has most of the images you'll need. Feel free to use those and slowly remove them as you go. -- Jellytost (talk) 23:31, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
I'm glad you figured all that out! Desperation for appreciation is not a fun thing to go through... You did an amazing job on the first 2 novels, and all the other novel coverage that you did! When I was working on novel coverage sections, I usually used your way of covering the novels as a basis.
Never forget that we all appreciate you for just what a great person you are! ❤
The entire Kirby novel project is ridiculously massive. Making the foundation of just the first one is a huge accomplishment on its own. Thanks for letting me work on the article! I like to do them in order, but if there's a specific one you want to make the page for, feel free to let me know. --DeepFriedCabbage 05:44, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
I might do Kirby: Meta Knight and the Puppet Princess and the other ones with Meta Knight as the protagonist, but I'll be thinking about it some more for a bit. Thanks so much. ❤ -- Jellytost (talk) 05:58, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
