"Bouncing Boss Battle" is a musical piece composed by Hirokazu Ando and serves as the regular boss battle theme in Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

Composition

"Bouncing Boss Battle" shares the melody of Floral Fields' second section which is one of the leitmotifs of Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

In addition to electronic music, brass instrumentation and piano are featured in this theme.

Game appearances

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

"Bouncing Boss Battle" can be found as Track 15 in the game's Jukebox.

As the regular boss theme, it's used in every boss battle at the end of Level 1 to 5 in Story Mode and Dededetour!:

However, the five bosses return for revenge in Royal Road. For their revenge battle, the theme Revenge of the Enemy is used instead.

In The Arena and The True Arena, Arena Showdown is used instead for those five bosses:

  • Triple Deluxe's orchestral remix for The Arena battle
  • Triple Deluxe's new heavy metal remix for The True Arena battle, resembling the original heavy metal version in The True Arena of Kirby Super Star Ultra.

Kirby Fighters Deluxe

A portion of "Bouncing Boss Battle" is remixed into the title screen theme of Kirby Fighters Deluxe, itself titled "Kirby Fighters Deluxe",[1] which plays at the same tempo as the original and is in B Minor. It also uses a phrase from "The World to Win". This theme is also remixed into the battle transition themes for the Single-Player campaign, and additionally plays during the final phase of the fight against Team DDD in all modes besides Very Hard.

Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe

In the Sub-Game upgrade spinoff Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe, "Bouncing Boss Battle" is remixed with a slower tempo to serve as the music for the fourth stage.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

In The True Arena, "Kirby Fighters Deluxe" is reused for Mid-Boss All-Stars 2.

Kirby Battle Royale

"Kirby Fighters Deluxe" is once again used for the Kirby clone ambush in the prologue to Dedede's Cake Royale.

Kirby Star Allies

The Drum Dash Deluxe version of "Bouncing Boss Battle" is reused for the Twin Bonkers Mid-Boss battle on Extra Planet β. It can be found as Track 99 in the Jukebox as of Version 4.0.0.

The original version of "Bouncing Boss Battle" is reused for certain Ambush/Mid-Boss All-Stars battles on the Sizzling Threat, Infernal Crisis, Soul Melter and Soul Melter EX difficulties of The Ultimate Choice. It can be found as Track 201 in the Jukebox as of Version 4.0.0.

Kirby Fighters 2

After clearing Story Mode: The Destined Rivals, the menu theme becomes a medley of the original Kirby Fighters title theme along with "Kirby Fighters Deluxe"; this song is also the theme for Stage of the Partners.

"Kirby Fighters Deluxe" is remixed for the theme song of Kirby Fighters 2's Single-Handed Mode. Notably, it adds a new second section to the song featuring a faster, more frantic version of "Hypernova Inhale", just like in "The World to Win".
