"Bring on the Super Ability"[2] is the musical piece that plays whenever Kirby gains a Super Ability in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. The theme was composed by Hirokazu Ando.
Composition
Bring on the Super Ability is a theme in 3/4 time and is in the key of C minor. Its melody consists of three ascending notes played twice, followed by a descending triad. It appears to have orchestrated instrumentation. This theme seems to appear as a popular motif in this game, an example of this being the latter half of Sky Tower.
Game appearances
Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe
When Kirby gains a Super Ability, the music changes to this piece until he loses the ability, regardless of the cause. The song is incorporated in the beginning of the theme for the "Final Battle" cutscene, albeit with modifications near the end.
An alternate version plays in the Ultra Sword segment Dangerous Dinner - Stage 3, as well as the Super Ability portions of the Grand Doomer and Magolor fights. It is named ウルトラスーパーボスバトル (Ultra Super Boss Battle) in the Kirby Wii Music Selection album. This version is higher pitched (performed in E minor as opposed to C minor) and sounds more intense than the original, containing additional instruments, such as rock guitars.
