Hello, this is Shinya Kumazaki, General Director of the Super Kirby Clash game. In this Super Kirby Clash Channel, three friendly members of the directors team from HAL Laboratory, Yumi Todo, Tadashi Kawai ,[sic] and myself will share info on the game.

We may have surprised you with the sudden launch, but Super Kirby Clash is available...now!

The Kirby Clash game that was originally on the Nintendo 3DS™ system is now on the Nintendo Switch™ system as a more "complete" edition. You can play quests with up to three other friends on a single system, via local wireless, or with friends online.

If you haven't played the game before, you use materials to craft powerful weapons and face off against challenging foes. In addition to a new town, we've added a lot more quests and weapons, and you can even challenge tough bosses that didn't make an appearance in the Kirby Star Allies game (now evolved with HD graphics).

And, just like the previous game, this one is also free-to-start! You'll be using Gem Apples to do things like unlock quests and restore vigor. Some Gem Apples can be obtained without purchase by progressing the game, playing every day, and typing in passwords. And some can be obtained from articles like this!

Here's an in-game gift for you from Magolor the shop keeper. By starting up Super Kirby Clash by clicking the link below, you can receive 10 Gem Apples. Just make sure that you have previously downloaded the game onto your system, finished the first quest, and visited the Shoppe. We hope you give this a try.

Until next time!

Hello, this is Yumi Todo from HAL Laboratory, director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

In this second article, we would like to introduce a few of the bosses you may encounter.

First, please take a look at that distinct chin...I mean that distinct silhouette... in the game's logo. This character is Parallel Nightmare, the counterpart of Nightmare Wizard from the Kirby's Adventure™ game!

In the Team Kirby Clash Deluxe game on the Nintendo 3DS™ system, the character in the silhouette of the game logo played a key role in the story. Likewise, in Super Kirby Clash, Parallel Nightmare will play a key role in the story.

In addition to attacks from Kirby's Adventure, Parallel Nightmare will also use attacks from the Kirby™ Mass Attack game, having one of the most diverse moves out of all bosses in Super Kirby Clash.

Additionally, familiar bosses will appear with different elemental forms, such as the flame version of Gigant Edge, the armored knight, and Mr. Floaty, who is Mr. Frosty's water element version that wears an adorable swimming suit.

We hope that Kirby fans will have a fun time facing these bosses with both a familiar and fresh feel.

Hello, I'm Tadashi Kawai from HAL Laboratory, Director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

We hope that you've had a chance to enjoy the game! In this third article, I would like to detail some of the perks of the game's online features.

With the online mode, you can play Super Kirby Clash with players from near and far. When you play online, each quest only requires half the Vigor you usually need to play! This means you can worry less about running out of Vigor and focus more on challenging quests and missions.

Playing online also gives you a Wireless-play bonus, meaning you'll earn 1.3x more experience points. If you're having trouble defeating a tough boss, try to play online to work towards raising your level. Then, give that tough boss another go!

Stamps are another feature you can enjoy while playing online. In addition to Kirby and King Dedede, there are stamps of other popular characters from the Kirby™ series, including Magolor, Susie, and The Three Mage-Sisters. We hope that you'll enjoy collecting all 55 stamps and use them to communicate with other players.

Here's another in-game gift for you from Magolor, the Shoppe keeper. By starting up Super Kirby Clash by clicking the link below, you can receive 10 Gem Apples. Just make sure that you have previously downloaded the game onto your system, finished the first quest, and visited the Shoppe. We hope you give this a try.

Until next time!

Hi everyone, I'm Shinya Kumazaki of HAL Laboratory. I worked as the general director on the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

In this article, I'd like to talk about what went into designing the game's bosses and some of the concept art we made along the way.

As you progress in Story Quest, you may notice the difficulty level for each boss increases. But, we asked ourselves, is it okay to just keep fighting similar bosses over and over? So, while keeping a boss's weakness, we designed variants of them in the hopes that it would give a better sense of advancement through the game. Boss variants are something we haven't even done in a mainline Kirby game.

Super Kirby Clash not only received a graphics update from its predecessor, but it also includes many new design elements. Our goal was to make it so that players could tell the nature of each boss just by looking at them. The design of each opponent isn't their only distinct feature—each boss has their own attack patterns and attributes.

My personal favorite is the super-cute Mr. Floaty, who's always soaking wet! He probably doesn't need to be in a float...

By the way, we had the game's director name all the bosses, including Mr. Floaty. The runners-up were Mr. Moisty and Mr. Wetty, but we felt that Floaty fit the best because he's obviously a swimmer. We're very proud of the name!

January 8th, 2020 A celebration? You bet! Check out the Gem Apples sale and special music video. SKC Channel post 5 image.png Hi everyone, I'm Shinya Kumazaki of HAL Laboratory. I worked as the general director on the Super Kirby Clash™ game. In this special article, we have a few exciting things to share.

Globally, Super Kirby Clash has been downloaded over four million times. We'd like to do something that we hope will make the game a little more enjoyable for each player... So, we're having a special sale on Gem Apples!

From Sun., 12/29/19 [7 a.m. PST], through Tues., 1/14/20 [1:59 a.m. PST], if you visit Magolor's in-game shop, you'll find Gem Apples for 20% off! If you're able to take advantage of this sale, you'll notice that your Tree Level will increase. This means you'll be able to harvest even more Gem Apples!

While four million downloads doesn't break the record set by the Team Kirby Clash Deluxe™ game for the Nintendo 3DS™ system, it's quite a big number for a Kirby game. Our team is overjoyed that so many players have picked it up.

Finally, to celebrate the occasion, we've created a special music video using the song from the end credits. Please check it out below.

Until next time!

Hello from HAL Laboratory! This is Yumi Todo, director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

In this article, we'd like to highlight the song that plays during the ending credits.

"What?! A song?!" That's right! The music that plays during the game's ending credits has lyrics and is entitled, "Green Tree Memories from Kirby." The song was created by the HAL Laboratory team, with lyrics by Shinya Kumazaki, the general director, and composed by Tadashi Ikegami. While his role at HAL Laboratory has shifted a bit, Mr. Ikegami has been part of the sound design team for the Kirby™ series for many years .[sic]

If you look at the top of this article, we've included an image of the song's early draft. We worked on creating the song by laying out the lyrics and melodies, then requested arrangements and translations. We believe the song represents Kirby's cute and heroic features, while also being a cheery song to sing along to.

You can listen to this song anytime you'd like by accessing it in the Staff Credits icon in the Option screen. We hope you'll enjoy listening and singing along to it again and again!

Hello from HAL Laboratories! I'm Tadashi Kawai, director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

We hope you're all enjoying Super Kirby Clash in the new year. In this article, we'd like to introduce a few pieces of armor concept art.

If you look at the above image, you'll see some of the themed armor concept art we created during production. Themed armor is very important because it introduces players to the game's world and playable roles-it needs to be a design that can really hook people in! So, for us, this armor is the most important equipment because it's seen the most.

Out of all our new equipment designs, our armor concepts had the most variations. The black and white concepts were designed based on the Port Village, so we tried to add touches that are reminiscent of the sea. We created such a wide variety of armor inspired by bosses, previous companions, and everything in between. Now, you can wear Marx's Hat, modeled after Marx, boss of the Kirby Super Star™ game, or a Fish Helm, which is a live fish!

If you've already played through the game, it may be fun to try out the newly added armor.

SKC Channel post 1 image 2.png
Hello from HAL Laboratories! I'm Shinya Kumazaki, general director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

Today, we'd like to share the game's first prototype for the end-credits song, "Green Tree Memories from Kirby."

We asked Tadashi Ikegami, who composed for games like Kirby's Dream Land™ 2, to compose a song. We were surprised to receive the first rendition of the song just days after sending our request. The version above is one of the two prototypes he created. Please have a listen!

This early version of the song hasn't been arranged, and there were no vocals, so it's quite different from the final version. But, we felt the warm atmosphere of traveling with friends even from the first prototype!

Based on the prototype, Hirokazu Ando, part of our sound staff, worked on arranging the song into its final form. It may be fun for you to compare the first version of the song to the final version used in the game.

Hello from HAL Laboratories! I'm Yumi Todo, director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

In the Kirby™ series, the village is an important place where players begin their journey. Adventurers return here again and again to purchase armor and harvest Gem Apples. In the Team Kirby Clash Deluxe™ game, the greenery-surrounded village was called Castle Village.

We wanted Super Kirby Clash to feel fresh for players that had also played Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, so we changed the village design into a breezy Port Village. You can see early concept art of the Port Village in the above image.

When we first started designing, our concept was actually closer to a fishing village design. If you look closely at the early concept art, you can find a fish shaped fountain and a barrel with a harpoon. Based on this image, our design evolved into a seaside village with a castle-like aesthetic.

We also considered other additions, like a tropical resort-styled village design. We hope that you'll check out the final results of our design ideas in-game!

As you continue the story, characters that have appeared in the Kirby Star Allies™ game, including Meta Knight, will start appearing in the village. So, we hope you'll see and enjoy those changes as you continue to progress through the game!

May 8th, 2020 Meet Pres. Parallel Susie and collect 10 Gem Apples for reading this article! SKC Channel post 10 image.png
SKC Channel post 1 image 2.png
Hello from HAL Laboratories. I'm Tadashi Kawai, director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game. Today, we'd like to introduce Pres. Parallel Susie and show some of her rough concept art.

Are you all familiar with secretary Susie from the Kirby™: Planet Robobot game? When she speaks, Susie typically uses formal etiquette like, well... a secretary! But the minute she hops into her Business Suit, she becomes a missile-blasting fighting secretary. After Kirby: Planet Robobot, Susie also made an appearance in the Team Kirby Clash Deluxe game as Parallel Susie.

That's a bit of Susie's history in other games, but for Super Kirby Clash, we decided to give her a new design as Pres. Parallel Susie. We only requested the following from the designer for this new design:

  • Make Susie seem colder than her usual self.

We requested this because she inherited the title "Pres." from a cold villain that tried to invade Kirby's home, Pop Star. In this way, Pres. Parallel Susie evolved from Parallel Susie, so we asked to show her evolution in the design.

Many ideas were submitted based on our request for a colder Susie. You can see a few of the submitted concepts the designer came up with in the image above. Which designs do you like?

We hope you get a chance to see Pres. Parallel Susie in Super Kirby Clash to see which design made the cut!

May 28th, 2020 Hear a remixed boss battle music, plus collect 10 Gem Apples for reading this article! SKC Channel post 11 image.png
SKC Channel post 1 image 2.png
Hello from HAL Laboratories! I'm Shinya Kumazaki, general director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

Today, we're happy to share a video made specifically for this channel. In it, you'll hear a remixed version of the boss battle music that plays when you come face to face with the four-headed guardian, Landia EX. The video also gives you an opportunity to compare the remixed version to the one used in the Team Kirby Clash Deluxe™ game.

Which track do you like better?

Both have their charms, but the remixed version uses a very bold arrangement from the get-go.

One of the key features of Super Kirby Clash is battling legendary bosses from the Kirby™ series, which also meant we needed an equal amount of boss battle tracks.

Since boss battle music is familiar to Kirby fans, we originally planned to use existing tracks. For example, the original track in the video first appeared in the Kirby™: Planet Robobot game.

However, with so much content and gameplay, we wanted to make sure the many battles felt fresh to players each time they played. So, at the suggestion of director Yumi Todo and the sound team, we were able to create remixed arrangements for each boss battle.

SKC Channel post 1 image 2.png
Hello, I'm Yumi Todo from HAL Laboratory, director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

Today, we would like to introduce early concept art of four armor and weapon sets designed after bosses from the Kirby series!

  • Sword Hero: Morpho Doomblade and Morpho Doomhelm

These are designed after Morpho Knight, a boss character that appears in the Kirby™ Star Allies game. Since this boss's shape is similar to Kirby's, there doesn't seem to be a big change compared to its final design.

  • Hammer Lord: Masked Dedede Hammer 2.0 and Masked Dedede Mask 2.0

King Dedede's signature weapon is his hammer. So, we modeled this set after Masked Dedede, who made his first appearance in the Kirby Super Star™ Ultra game.

  • Doctor Healmore: Sectonia Flask and Sectonia Mask

The Sectonia Mask was designed after Queen Sectonia, who first appeared in the Kirby™: Triple Deluxe game. We wanted this armor in the Doctor Healmore class so it would compliment Taranza's appearance.

Other earlier design ideas also included having insect-like goggles over the eyes to match the other Doctor Healmore armor designs.

  • Beam Mage: Marx's Staff and Marx's Hat

This set is designed after Marx, who was introduced in the Kirby Super Star™ game.

There was an idea of making the armor like a mask covering Kirby's face, but we thought that would make Kirby look too much like Marx. Instead, we went with the current design.

Hello, this is Tadashi Kawai from HAL Laboratories, director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game. For this article, we'd like to introduce you to a few of the various features that decorate the Port Village.

Let's start by talking about some of the characters that visit the village. As you progress through the game, the village gradually becomes a bustling hub with characters representing various Kirby™ games. Some visiting characters include Adeleine and Ribbon from the Kirby 64™: The Crystal Shards game and The Three Mage-Sister[sic] and Hyness from the Kirby™ Star Allies game.

Did you notice the hidden "HAL" letters? In Kirby games, the letters "HAL" are hidden somewhere in the game, such as in the form of blocks. In this game, the HAL letters are hidden... in the clouds! If you're[sic] already found them, you must've gotten pretty far!

For those that haven't seen the "HAL" clouds yet, here's how:

Purchase all the weapons and armor. That's it! Then, from time to time, the word "HAL" will appear in the clouds above the Shoppe.

We understand that not everyone can buy all weapons and armor right away, so here's a screenshot of the "HAL" clouds above the Port Village.

As you can see in the picture, the letters are camouflaged as clouds, so they can be easy to miss.

In addition to what we've discussed here, there are other hidden features you can unlock—like changing the Shoppe and Quest Board's appearance—by completing certain tasks!

We hoped to add a bit of charm to the game by adding these encounters and discoveries. We hope you'll take some time to look around the village to see what you can uncover.

Here's another in-game gift for you from Magolor, the Shoppe keeper. By starting up Super Kirby Clash by clicking the link below, you can receive 10 Gem Apples. Hello. I'm Shinya Kumazaki from HAL Laboratories, general director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

Can you believe it's almost been a year since Super Kirby Clash launched? To celebrate the occasion, we're happy to share The Aeon Hero's concept art and theme music in a special video (please see above).

If you've played previous Kirby™ games, you may notice that this powerful character looks a bit familiar. For his design, we wanted him to have a different effect, but the designer also wanted this character's armor to look heroic and reminiscent of his days as a champion.

Due to this character's special appearance, the game director, Yumi Todo, requested that he not have a clear name. Instead, he was given the name "The Aeon Hero," which sounds more like his title. We used a similar tactic when naming King D-Mind.

The Dark version of the Aeon Hero character appears as an online-exclusive hidden boss and has a different ending from other bosses. He may appear again someday...in another world.

We look forward to the day we see this time-wandering character again!

September 11th, 2020 Happy anniversary! Enjoy this celebratory illustration and collect 20 Gem Apples for reading this article. Twitter commemorative - SKC 1st anniversary EN.jpg Hello, this is Yumi Todo from HAL Laboratory, director of the Super Kirby Clash™ game.

Super Kirby Clash launched on Sept. 5, 2019, which means the game has reached its one-year anniversary! We're very happy that so many people from around the world have been able to experience the game over the last year.

To commemorate this occasion, and to express our gratitude to our players, our design director has created the above illustration. Additionally, we're also gifting 20 Gem Apples at the end of this article (double the usual amount).

Parallel Nightmare looks quite charming, doesn't he?

In the game's theme song, Green Tree Memories, the lyrics explain, "One, two, three and maybe four...Making friends, and we'll be making more."

While we designed the game to be enjoyable in single-player mode, our main goal was to create a game you'd want to play alongside friends and family. Since this is a free-to-download game, it's easy to invite others to play alongside you.

To encourage multiplayer, we included stamps, the online play option, and online multiplayer-focused quests. We also made it so players can receive more experience by playing with others!

If you've[sic] on the fence about trying to play with others, it's not too late to enjoy this game with someone!

Here's another in-game gift for you from Magolor, the Shoppe keeper. By starting up Super Kirby Clash by clicking the link below, you can receive 20 Gem Apples.
