Listed below are the glitches in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. Please read the Glitch Disclaimer Notes before attempting any of the glitches on this page.

List of glitches[edit]

Death abuse[edit]

Starting with Kirby's Return to Dream Land, if a player loses a life to a boss after watching the initial lengthy cutscene the first time through, then a shortened cinematic will play upon retrying the battle as long as the stage isn't exited via pause menu. However, if a player exits one of the Magolor Epilogue boss stages after having lost to it previously and then starts a new adventure, the game will act like it's their second (or more) try fighting the boss the next time they enter a boss stage in the epilogue.

Double Full-Charge Blaster[edit]

If Mecha Kirby performs a Full-Charge Storage, followed by a Sizz-Zap Burst while the attack button is held, he will be able to charge up another Full-Charge Blaster. After this attack is released, Kirby will be able to use the Full-Charge Blaster he previously stored right after the first one ends.[1]

Elec's Invisible Road[edit]

In stage 3-3 of Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler, using a Magolor Cannon on a bomb block with an off-screen Elec on the metal blocks it destroys will cause the Elec to move as if it was still on the blocks. [needs verification] Attacking the Elec in this state will end the glitch.

Front Facing Water Galbo[edit]

In Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler, if Magolor causes a Magic Bomb explosion to hit, but not defeat a Water Galbo, said enemy will become stuck facing the screen. However this glitch is purely aesthetic, as the Galbo will still attack in the original direction it was facing. The Galbo will be unable to turn back to the side, even if Magolor attacks it. Due to being exclusive to Water Galbo specifically and not its firey counterpart, this glitch can only be done in Poseiblu Dimension 3-2 and 3-3.[2]

Invisible platform and Goriath[edit]

During the Goriath boss battle, using a Quick Fall or an attack that lets the player fall faster (e.g. Stone Change) above a section where an ice platform would appear when the boss starts breaking the floor will cause Kirby to reach said platform before the platform itself, resulting in Kirby landing on an invisible floor. Additionally, due to Goriath's speed, when positioned in such a way, he will also reach the platform a few frames before it drops.[3]

Loading screen lag[edit]

Using Mecha's Full-Charge Blaster and entering a stage shortly afterwards causes the blue loading screen to show for a long time. This is likely due to the burden on the system.[4]

Master Crown and Magolor double death[edit]

In Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler, if Magolor loses all of his health at the same time as he depletes the Master Crown's health, his death animation will play along with the cutscene. The game will continue as if Magolor had not taken damage after the fade-in.[5]

Mute dimensional rift[edit]

When Kirby ejects an ability at the same time as he enters a dimensional rift, the sound effects cancel each other out and also prevent the "Interdimensional Fanfare" music from playing.[6]

Reverberating rainbow[edit]

Using Water's Rainbow Rain while surrounded by projectiles will cause said projectiles to explode and damage enemies. When there is an abundance of projectiles, the effects will last significantly longer and deal more damage in the process.[7]

Sand Storm side effects[edit]

When fighting Magolor Soul in The True Arena, if Kirby uses an attack giving a visual effect (such as his Sand Storm) and gets caught up in Magolor's Sand Storm, he will retain the visual effect even while not attacking.[8]

Slide momentum[edit]

If Kirby drops his Copy Ability during a slide, the slide will be cancelled but Kirby will go about twice as far. Kirby can go even further when using a Super Ability, due to its added speed.[9] If Kirby drops his ability too early, he'll instead stay in place.

Spinning Magolor Soul[edit]

This glitch requires Kirby to bring the Ninja Copy Ability to the Magolor Soul fight. Kirby must reach the second phase of the fight and wait for the boss to use his variant of the Flare Beam attack. Kirby must dash through Magolor at the same time as the latter rams into the screen. If done correctly, he will now be rapidly spinning without his Flare Beam shield until his attack finishes. While in this state, he can still damage Kirby if they come in contact. The glitch is unchanged from the original Kirby's Return to Dream Land.[10]

Stardust overlap[edit]

After defeating the Master Crown in the True Arena, certain attack effects will display behind the red dust of the battle stage.[11]

Sword charge walk[edit]

Due to the game supporting different controller inputs, it is possible to input 2 different directions. In doing so with the Sword Copy Ability, Kirby slowly moves forward while t-posing and leaving behind clouds of dust in an attempt to charge his sword.[12]

Underwater emote falling[edit]

If a player is underwater, and they emote while another player either pushes them off an edge or breaks a block underneath them, the emoting player will enter a glitched state and start slowly falling down as if they were out of water. This will allow them to guard, slide, jump really high, slowly sprint, piggyback other glitched players, and inhale as Kirby. Performing a hover as Kirby, Mecha Kirby, or King Dedede cancels the glitch. Bandana Waddle Dee's Infinity Jump also cancels this glitch, and Meta Knight is unable to fly. This glitch can also be canceled if the player dodges, air-dodges, performs Face-to-Face, headbutts, gets hit, inhales, lands on the ground as King Dedede, or attacks with Meta Knight, King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee, Hammer, Parasol, Spear, or Sword, as this will trigger a regular underwater attack instead.[13][14][15]

Unmasked ship part collector[edit]

When one of the first five bosses is defeated, emoting, removing the mask and collecting the newly obtained ship part in rapid succession causes Kirby to retain a neutral expression until after the victory dance.[16]
