Raisin Ruins - Stage 2 (simply called Stage 2 or 2-2 in-game) is the second stage of Raisin Ruins in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake—Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. There are four Energy Spheres in this stage. The Water ability and Flare Beam Super Ability debut in this stage.

Overview[edit]

Kirby splashes about in a cool, refreshing desert oasis.

The stage begins in a serene oasis region, where many Totengas and Water Galbos make their home. Kirby can swallow the latter to obtain the coveted Water ability, allowing him to surf gracefully through this area. Along the way, there are a handful of goodies to obtain inside the scattered water pools, with one particular cache found at the end of the path.

Through the first door, Kirby can encounter some Rockies guarding a tunnel passageway. Using their power, Kirby can slide down these tunnels and break through the blockades ahead. There is a side area along the way down these tunnels which can be accessed by pounding a stake.

Through the main door at the bottom, Kirby will find himself in a deep underwater tunnel and have to swim past the Glunks on guard to emerge on the other side back into the open air. Past an optional door, a Warp Star can be found which will take Kirby to a faraway ruin.

In the ruin, Kirby will have to cross giant Kabu-like statues which shoot flame to find a Super Waddle Doo. Swallowing this creature yields the Flare Beam ability, which allows Kirby to bust the statues using a giant ball of energy. Behind one of them is a rift to Another Dimension.

Another Dimension rift[edit]

This challenge has Kirby swimming through suspended cubes of water as he makes his way forward. He will also have to contend with Blippers in the cubes and Bronto Burts outside of them. At the end of this path, a fiery Sphere Doomer must be defeated to clear this section. From there, the stage exit can be found up above, back in the ruins.

Energy Sphere Guide[edit]

  • While sliding down the tunnels using Stone, a stake can be pounded to reveal a side door. This leads to a small Bomb Block challenge which yields the first sphere upon completion.
  • In the second open oasis area, just before the Warp Star, a side door can be found deep in the pool, underneath a breakable barrier. The second sphere is inside a small room behind another barrier which can be busted by breaking the correct Bomb Block.
  • The last two spheres can be obtained by defeating the Sphere Doomer at the end of the rift section.
