Degout[Japanese title] is an enemy that debuted in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It can be considered cousins with the Scarfy and the Mumbies, but is distinct from them in its robotic appearance and high HP.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]
Degout is found within the Egg Engines and Dangerous Dinner levels in Halcandra and in stages in Popstar on Extra Mode. It looks very similar to Mumbies, though it bears a robotic shell rather than bandages. It cannot be inhaled. There are two types of Degout. The standard Degout has a gray coloration, and will either remain passive until attacked, or attempt to pursue Kirby while his back is turned, much like a Boo from the Mario games. The second type has a red coloration, and is known as a Hunter Degout, which attacks any character holding a Key, similar to a Hunter Scarfy.
Locations[edit]
In Kirby's Return to Dream Land and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Degout can be found in the following levels and stages:

Hunter Degout only appears in Egg Engines - Stage 2 and Dangerous Dinner - Stage 3.
Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition[edit]
Degouts appear in the Fighter Combat Chamber, being notable in their high health. To defeat them more easily, Kirby will have to knock them into fiery walls.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]
Degout appears briefly in Kirby: Triple Deluxe and bears a slightly brighter metallic shell and light yellow eyes as opposed to the old orange ones. Unlike in previous appearances, Degout is never passive, and will always attempt to pursue Kirby or King Dedede. While Hunter Scarfy does appear in this game, Hunter Degout does not, which may be the reason why Degouts are more aggressive than their appearance in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
Degout is only located in Endless Explosions - Stage 4 and Endless Explosions - Stage 5.
Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]
Degout appears late into the game, only appearing in Rhythm Route - Stage 3 and Rhythm Route - Stage 7 EX. It bears its yellow eye from Kirby: Triple Deluxe, but is generally more passive, like its Kirby's Return to Dream Land incarnation.
