Barbar[Japanese title] is a gigantic aquatic eel-like creature who likes to reside in holes in the wall and reach out to try and eat Kirby and his friends if they try to swim past. All Barbars are large, though some are bigger than others, a few much so. If Kirby gets sucked into its mouth, the player needs to shake the controller or mash the stick to get Kirby out again.
Barbar first appeared in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, and has since reappeared in a handful of other 2.5-D Kirby games. It has a few relatives, namely the Hypernova-inhalable Land Barbar and the lava-dwelling Iron Barbar.
