Sand is a Copy Ability that will be debuting in the upcoming 2023 game Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, as an addition to the base game. With this ability, Kirby gains a crown made of sand atop a tiara with pyramid-like decals on it, similar to other elemental Copy Ability hats like Fire, Water, and Spark. Using the Sand ability, Kirby can throw sandblasts at his opponents, create dust devils, hide in a pile of sand to avoid damage similar to Leaf, and even grab items from afar similar to Whip. He can also make a sand castle appear from the ground to attack opponents.

The name of the enemy that provides Sand is unknown, but it appears to be a bipedal lizard-like creature.
