Dubior is a Mid-Boss that debuted in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It resembles a UFO-like floating robot, with yellow shining eyes. Its underside is orange, and surrounding that side are five stubs that shoot lasers. It yields the Spark ability when defeated and Inhaled.
Dubior has an advantage over most other Mid-Bosses in that it can hover, and spends much of its time off the ground. It is also capable of summoning little minions (known as Dubior Jr.s[from internal data]) to defend itself, and delivers an arsenal of electric attacks.
Game appearances
Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe
Dubior made its debut appearance in this title. It does not appear until stage 5 of Nutty Noon, and is the last of the Mid-Bosses to be revealed. It is the only inhalable Mid-Boss in the game who can hover, making it somewhat trickier to battle than the others. In the Extra Mode, it appears as Dubior EX, bearing an altered appearance and more potent attacks.
Locations
In Kirby's Return to Dream Land Dubior can be found in the following levels and stages:

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition
Dubior appears in New Challenge Stages, in the Smash Combat Chamber and in the Smash Combat Chamber EX. It looks and fights the same way as it did in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and is worth 1000 points when defeated.
Kirby: Planet Robobot
Dubior appears in this game, serving the same function as before, though it now possesses the ability to summon Dubior Jr.s from the foreground and background. An upgraded version known as Dubior 2.0 also appears, bearing a great resemblance to Dubior EX from Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
Dubior is the only returning Mid-Boss in Kirby: Planet Robobot to not be visibly affected by the Haltmann Works Company's mechanization, as it is already robotic.
Dubior appears in the following stages:
- Resolution Road - Stage 6 EX (as Dubior 2.0)
- Gigabyte Grounds - Stage 3
- Rhythm Route - Stage 3
- Access Ark - Stage 5 (as a common enemy, as Dubior 2.0)
Dubior's regular form initially attacks in a fixed order on loop as follows:
- Charge
- Dubior Jr. Summon x2
- Lightning Strike x2
After losing enough health, it will abruptly summon four Dubior Jr.s from the background and strike with lightning three times before attacking in a mostly random order.
Trivia
- Dubior's normal color scheme pays homage to the Robotic Operating Buddy, also known as R.O.B. (specifically the Famicom version).
- Notably, when its normal form is fought in Nutty Noon - Stage 5's regular route and Gigabyte Grounds - Stage 3, its attacks have a longer cool-down and charge-up time compared to its other encounters.
