"Drawcia Soul" is a theme from Kirby: Canvas Curse. It is generally considered to be Drawcia's theme along with Drawcia Sorceress (theme). It was composed by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

Composition

"Drawcia Soul" is composed in E♭ minor, and runs at a very fast tempo of about 185 beats per minute. It is generally atonal and dissonant, with little in the way of discernible melodies at first, instead focus on erratic chord stabs and fast-paced drums. However, there is a second section which has an audible melody, though it is very frantic and fast-paced.

Game appearances

Kirby: Canvas Curse

The theme appears for the first time in this game. It plays during the second part of the final boss against Drawcia when she is in her Soul form. It can be found as track 42 of the game's Sound Test.

Kirby Star Allies

The original version of the theme appears as the rest area music before the individual battles against Francisca, Flamberge, and Zan Partizanne in Soul Melter EX of The Ultimate Choice. This version of the song skips the intro, going directly into the first section of the melody. As a result, it is called "Drawcia Soul / Star Allies Short ver." on Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack. It can be found as track 208 of the game's Jukebox.

Kirby's Dream Buffet

A remix of the theme can play as a theme for Minigames and is available at start. This version of the song uses jazz instrumentation and skips most of the first section, focusing primarily on the second section. It was arranged by Megumi Ohara.

Other appearances

The theme is featured in The Sound of Kirby Café, in Track 9: Rendezvous of the King and the Witches / Kirby Series Extra Game Medley, where it is coupled with "CROWNED: Ver. 2" and "Dark Crafter Battle" in an upbeat jazz medley. It was arranged by Megumi Ohara.
