Bomb Rally is one of the Sub-Games featured in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. Like the other sub-games, Bomb Rally has multiplayer support with up to four players. It also makes an appearance in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, as an addition to the base game.

Gameplay

Kirby faces off against three opponents, who can either be other Kirbys or - in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe - King Dedede, Meta Knight, or Bandana Waddle Dee in an explosive tennis-style rally. Each contestant must use their frying pan to pass around the bomb to the next one. To hit the bomb along, the player needs to hit the A button with proper timing, as it heads toward their character. If a contestant does not hit the bomb in time, he is blown out of the screen and replaced with a Bubbles, who then serves the bomb to a nearby contestant. As the sub-game progress, the bomb moves faster between the contestants. Bubbles are incapable of missing the bombs. The last contestant standing wins at the sub-game.

In Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, Kirby can play Bomb Rally from an unlockable door in every level's hub, except Butter Building, in exchange for 1-Up rewards. The number of 1-Ups that Kirby obtains is based on his performance: three in first place, two in second place, or one in third place. If Kirby is the first to be blown out, he does not receive any. There are three levels of difficulty for this Sub-Game, with each increment increasing the CPU reaction time.
