Heavy Mole is a boss debuting in Kirby's Adventure. He is a large, golden machine with one single eye, a launcher on his bottom and mechanical red hands with spiral running arms.

Game appearances

Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

Kirby battles the Heavy Mole (Nightmare in Dream Land).

In Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Nightmare in Dream Land, Heavy Mole appears as the boss of Yogurt Yard, the fifth level in the game. It is fought underground. Kirby must stay on-screen or he will lose all of his health instantly, since the boss causes the stage to auto-scroll.

In battle, Heavy Mole digs through the dirt using his red spike balls, which can hurt Kirby if he comes into contact with them. Sometimes, when digging up or down, Heavy Mole launches a red, brown, or yellow Dygclops missile from his back side at Kirby. If the red Dygclops is swallowed, the Sleep ability is given to Kirby. By swallowing the yellow/brown one, however, Kirby gains the Hammer ability, which can be used to attack the boss or dig through the ground. Defeating the Heavy Mole causes him to explode, as well as changing the stage from his arena to a flat featureless plain in front of a cracked stone wall.

Kirby's Avalanche

In Kirby's Avalanche, Heavy Mole is the ninth boss fought (not counting the three "Lesson" bosses only fought in Easy mode). It focuses on destroying blobs quickly, instead of strategically forming chain reactions. His AI is similar to Zoh Daimaoh from Puyo Puyo, but Heavy Mole does not shake the board.

Dialogue

Heavy Mole says: "I am Heavy Mole, watch while I undermine your precious dream!!"
Kirby says: "You are sneaky, but I will not be distracted by your under-handed tactics."
