“ | My eardrum is killing me! | ” | — King Dedede is sick when Kirby sings his reprise of Kihon wa Maru. |
Kihon wa Maru is the ending theme of Hoshi no Kābī (Japanese version of Kirby: Right Back at Ya!) from Kirby Comes to Cappy Town to A Whale of a Tale. The lyrics of the song explain how to draw Kirby, in a manner similar to the intro from Kirby's Adventure. The song's title translates to "First you draw a circle."
The song is 4/4 time at 144 beats per minute in F Major. It is replaced by "Kirby ☆ Step!" starting in Waddle While You Work.

Trivia
- In Abusement Park, Kirby attempts to sing this song (due to his being tone-deaf), but fails badly. A sad horn plays outside the fourth wall in the Japanese version to reflect his sub-optimal performance. This horn does not return in The Kirby Quiz, where Mike Kirby is featured, singing the same melody.
