Melman is a minor supporting character in the anime series Kirby: Right Back at Ya!. He is the oldest Cappy in Cappy Town, and his advanced age is often commented on by other characters. As his name suggests, he is the mailman for Cappy Town, and is often seen in that role, delivering letters to other characters. He does not have a significant role in the series outside of the episode Born to Be Mild - Part II, where it is revealed that he was once a legendary motorcyclist who went by the name Steppenwolf. In this role, he returns one last time to defeat Fang in the DDD Speedway race.

Characteristics[edit]

Melman's main personality traits stem from his advanced age, and he spends much of his time complaining about the physical complications that result from this. He often has a slouched-over appearance, and his face is dominated by his extremely long beard and eyebrows which cover his eyes most of the time. He is somewhat cranky and aloof, but is regardless studious, determined, and a good Samaritan. He is also surprisingly durable for his age, as he often has to recover from being run over by people on the road, whether intentionally or not.

In Born to Be Mild - Part II, Melman is revealed to have once been a legendary biker named Steppenwolf. In this role, Melman shows off his incredible skill with a motorbike, being able to steer deftly around and jump over obstacles and parry attacks from the villainous biker Fang. Above all, Steppenwolf was known for his good deeds done in anonymity and his love of freedom that riding a motorcycle brings.
