Plugg is the eponymous, plug-like enemy that debuted in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Plugg is typically cyan in color and resembles the end of a power cord (though without the cord itself), with two prongs coming out of his head, two stubby feet, and two black dots for eyes, with no other facial features to speak of. As an enemy, Plugg attacks by jumping up and pushing his prongs into the ground, causing small electrical waves on both sides. While his attacks do minimal damage, the electrical spark it creates tends to travel a bit of a distance before dying out. As an ally, Plugg gains the ability to charge and release bursts of electricity just like Plasma Kirby, making him much more potent.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[edit]
In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Plugg is a late-game enemy which provides Kirby the Spark ability when swallowed. He also appears on Enemy Info Card #57.
Locations[edit]
Plugg can be found in the following levels and stages:

Kirby Star Allies[edit]
After several years of absence in the Kirby series, Plugg returns in Kirby Star Allies. This time, he provides the Plasma ability and can be found in many stages, as early as Clash at Castle Dedede.
Plugg can also be recruited as a Friend, able to provide the Zap element. Like many helpers, Plugg has lower health than Kirby.
Locations[edit]
In Kirby Star Allies Plugg can be found in the following levels and stages:
Kirby Fighters 2[edit]
While not appearing as an enemy in Kirby Fighters 2, a miniature Plugg appears in the Zap Weapon item. As the players hit the Zap Weapon several times, Plugg would appear to plug himself into the top antenna of the item and generate balls of electricity that home in on players and opponents.
Trivia[edit]
- In Kirby Star Allies, Plugg has a little metal screw in his back.
- It is stated in one of the Dedede Directory posts from Kirby JP Twitter that the screw on Plugg's back is part of an upgrade that made him more powerful, which is also why he grants the Plasma ability in Kirby Star Allies.
- Plugg's quote from his Kirby Star Allies pause caption is meant to highlight his obscure origin. In Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go!, his Japanese subtitle is 忘らるる希望の光 ("Forgotten Light of Hope"), which is ironically similar to the Japanese title of Zan Partizanne's boss battle theme - 忘らるる閃光のライトニング ("Forgotten Flash of Lightning").
- Plugg's prongs represent a Type A power plug that is used in North America and some Asian countries including Japan.
