The Dark Matter cloud, also referred to as simply the dark cloud, is a mass of darkness that serves as an antagonistic force in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. In those games, it is controlled by Dark Matter, Zero, and 0² to take over planets and influence the inhabitants of Popstar and Ripple Star. In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, it is also shown to be capable of splintering into individual beings.

Kirby's Dream Land 3[edit]
After being defeated in Kirby's Dream Land 2, Dark Matter once again tries to take over Dream Land, this time bringing along his master, Zero. They use the dark cloud to exert control over Popstar, which Kirby and his friends confront by collecting Heart Stars from each of the bosses and inhabitants of the world. After collecting all of the Heart Stars to form the Love-Love Stick and defeat Dark Matter and Zero, the dark cloud dissipates.
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[edit]
