"Song of Supplication" is a theme from Kirby Star Allies commonly associated with The Three Mage-Sisters. It was composed by Hirokazu Ando.
Game appearances
Kirby Star Allies
"Song of Supplication" first appears in this game, as the boss battle theme for Francisca and Flamberge, as well as the first phase of The Three Mage-Sisters when they are fought in Heroes in Another Dimension. This version can be found as Track 51 in the Kirby Star Allies Jukebox.
A rock arrangement of "Song of Supplication" also plays during Zan Partizanne's boss battle. It is called 忘らるる閃光のライトニング (Wasuraruru Senkō no Raitoningu; "Forgotizanne Flash of Lightning"). The song's title is a pun on "Partizanne" (Parurutizānu in Japanese), and "forgotten" (wasuraruru), referencing Hyness' tendency to forget her name. This version can be found as Track 57 in the Jukebox.
Another arrangement appears, as the Dream Friend fanfare of The Three Mage-Sisters uses part of "Song of Supplication". The jingle is named 三魔官シスターズ、恩義を…返す! (San Ma-kan Shisutāzu, Ongi o… Kaesu!; "The Three Mage-Sisters… Repay Their Debt!"). This version can be found as Track 141 in the Jukebox.
The theme of the Celebration Picture "Let Them Know We're Happy" is also a slow remix of "Song of Supplication". This version can be found as Track 229 in the Jukebox.
Lastly, Void Termina's theme, "Suite: The Star Conquering Traveler", combines an arrangement of "Song of Supplication" with "Green Greens".
Kirby Fighters 2
The original "Forgotizanne Flash of Lighting" reappears in Kirby Fighters 2 as a normal theme of Jambastion Entrance. A new remix of it can also be found as the stage's Secret Song, being unlocked at Fighters Rank 60.
Other appearances
In The Sound of Kirby Café 2, the theme is combined with "Passion of the Tridental-Flashing Priestesses" for a light pop-styled theme called Track 12: "Smile-Sisters & Gentlemen".
Lyrics
The lyrics are found in the pause Special Pages of VS Francisca, Flamberge and Zan Partizanne during their battles in The Ultimate Choice (Infernal Crisis and Soul Melter only). It should be noted that, much like The Noble Haltmann, these lyrics are only implied, and never sung directly in-game.
In spite of all, cold as ice! In spite of all, hard as stone! In spite of all, we sing to you! We call to you! We dream of you! In spite of all, cold as ice! In spite of all, hard as stone! Hear our plea, you must! (You must!) In spite of all, hard as stone! In spite of all, we sing to you! In spite of all, sadness rose! In spite of all, yearning grows! In spite of all, cold as ice! In spite of all, hard as stone! Hey, is all we can do just praying? ×2 (Note: Some translations are borrowed from the official Chinese and English lyrics.) |
