Burst and Rise! A Path Full of Pipes (Cone Mouth Treasure for short) is a stage in Treasure Road, found in Natural Plains. This stage tasks Kirby with completing a challenge revolving around the use of Cone Mouth, requiring him to bust water pipes to get higher and higher. The stage is initially hidden, but can be uncovered after completing Through the Tunnel by "searching" in a landmark featuring a ring of trees and a flower patch with butterflies, just to the right and up slightly from the stage select area for Rocky Rollin' Road. It is marked by three stars of difficulty and has a stage time of one and a half minutes (one minute in Wild Mode), with a target time of 45 seconds.
Stage details[edit]
In this stage, Kirby is given a cone for Cone Mouth and tasked with breaking a sequence of nine cracked water pipes in order to traverse up this largely vertical stage. Along the way, he will need to deal with walkways containing various enemies, including a Gordo Bar, a charging Buffahorn, and some Big Kabu spitting their Kabu along the pipes. Near the top, a number of moving platforms also need to be traversed. After the last pipe is broken, Kirby will be flung up to the Rare Stone platform at the top.
Tips[edit]
The following are tips on how to attain the target time for this stage:
- Using Cone Mouth's "Spike Downward" attack gives Kirby some extra air before landing, so it may be useful to simply use that instead of jumping first.
- It may be advisable to ignore certain enemies while moving upward, since even if they try to get in the way of Kirby breaking the pipe, they will be defeated anyway.
- The target time may seem strict at first, but as long as Kirby keeps moving forward, there is a fair amount of wiggle room in which minor errors can occur.
