— Figure description segment from Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Deep Sleep is an Evolved Copy Ability based on Sleep that appears in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Kirby can use this ability at anytime and anywhere by pressing the Attack button, and by doing so he puts his bed and takes a brief nap on it (he can even put his bed on unconventional terrains like water surface, lava and poison swamp without taking damage), which fully heals him (33.4% health times 3), as well as giving him one random boost to his attack, speed, or health.

The chances of receiving one random boost are as follows:

  • Life Up: 20%
  • Attack Up: 40%
  • Speed Boost: 40%

The effect time of Attack/Speed Boost from Deep Sleep cannot exceed 200 seconds.

Like the original Sleep ability, Kirby can wake up from Deep Sleep earlier by waggling the control stick and/or pressing the Attack button repeatedly.

If Kirby falls onto an enemy while he is in bed, or hits an enemy when he wakes up, it will deal slight damage to the enemy.

If Kirby takes damage and loses the Deep Sleep ability, its hat will despawn immediately.

Trivia

  • Deep Sleep is the sole copy ability where Kirby can be seen with his eyes half-closed.
  • Sleep is unavailable from the random Copy Essences in the Colosseum, possibly to prevent infinite buffs from Deep Sleep.
