Regarding mashing to wake up earlier[edit]

Alright, in order to prevent any more edit wars on this page, let me make it clear.

The video that was used to "prove" that mashing did not affect sleep time is a misconception. I and other admins have personally tested this in-game, and found that the time Kirby spends sleeping can be reduced from its default of roughly 12 seconds to as low as 7 or 6 seconds. Going forward, those are the facts. If you don't believe me, boot up the game and try it yourself. --Samwell (talk) 17:55, 3 May 2022 (UTC)

It's honestly getting ridiculous at this point, but I am yet again having to debunk this. This video, unlike the last one, uses a turbo controller instead of manual mashing, and it is making 20 inputs a second. The bed it shaking like there's an earthquake, and yet Kirby STILL does not wake up any sooner. This is the second time I have provided proof that mashing does not wake up Kirby earlier, and you have thus far produced nothing other than your word that you believe mashing reduces the sleep duration. Unless you are going to claim that I somehow possess the only copy of the game in existence in which mashing has no effect, you simply have no leg to stand on at this point. Can we please stop this? I'm really getting fed up of it. Alex the weeb (talk) 18:49, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
Please calm down. This is nothing to get heated about. I'm guessing at this point, based on your language, that these are your videos? In that case, would you be willing to humor me by explaining how you mashed, and which inputs you made? It may be possible, for instance, that mashing with only the buttons does nothing, but it's shaking the stick that makes Kirby wake up sooner. --Samwell (talk) 19:33, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes, these are my videos. In the first one, I mashed manually with the stick, while in the second I mashed with buttons using a (officially licensed) turbo controller. Alex the weeb (talk) 19:39, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
Well, try doing both at the same time then, and then get back to me. If you still don't believe it to be any faster, then I will produce a video tomorrow showing my experience. --Samwell (talk) 19:41, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
I did a rough test and it is true that button mashing doesn't speed up the sleep. However, spinning the control stick does. I slapped together a video here to compare them. CanvasK (talk) 01:56, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification! Will be adding said video as a reference shortly. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 04:58, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
