The 3D Helmet Cannon[1] is an item, first appearing in Kirby: Triple Deluxe which, while worn, allows Kirby or King Dedede to fire continuous shots into the background or the foreground, depending on which plane they are in.
The 3D Helmet Cannon resembles a hard hat, though it is blue and has a cannon extruding out of it like a head lamp. On the back, a little star insignia can be seen. Though it is worn like a hat, Kirby can take it off at any time and throw it like an item. The cannon, while worn, will fire shots continuously into a different plane from the one Kirby is situated in, allowing him to strike targets, enemies, and barriers in that plane. If used for too long, the 3D Helmet Cannon will start to grow unstable and turn red. After too long, it breaks.
This item is very similar to the Crackler, which can also be found in Triple Deluxe, albeit in the Kirby Fighters Sub-Game.
Trivia
- The 3D Helmet Cannon was also planned to be included in Kirby: Planet Robobot, but was ultimately left out. It can still be summoned in the game using hacks.
