Keychain
A Keychain is a collectible item in Kirby: Triple Deluxe that, while not required to complete the game, is required for a 100% completion. Keychains are hidden throughout the main Story Mode, but can also be found in the Story Mode Goal Game, Dededetour!, in both The Arena and The True Arena, and can be obtained via spending 3DS Play Coins, though this is by no means required. To keep any obtained Keychains, Kirby or Dedede has to complete whatever stage or mode he is in where he got them.
Description
Before collection, Keychains resemble floating baubles with question marks on their bases. Keychains represent sprites from earlier sprite-based 2-D Kirby adventures (with three exceptions). These can be anything, from variations on Kirby, to common enemies, to items, bosses and side-characters. Keychains can be viewed and looked at in closer detail in the Keychain Collection menu, accessible from the File Menu or the Story Mode World Map.
There are 256 Keychains in total, and they come in two types; Normal and Golden. Normal Keychains are random, in that you are not guaranteed to get any particular Keychain upon collecting it. Golden Keychains are unique, however, and can only be found in particular places in Story Mode, one in each stage (excluding Boss stages). Once the stage or mode is complete, any collected Keychains will be uncovered and added to the collection. It is possible to obtain the same Normal Keychain more than once, but usually one can expect to get at least one new Keychain with every major score.
After a Golden Keychain is collected, subsequent visits will only yield a Normal Keychain.
List
The following is a list of every Keychain in the game. The list details what the Keychain represents, which game it came from, and any additional notes. This list will not specify where to obtain the unique Keychains. Seek the level synopsis for each Triple Deluxe level for more clues on that.
