"Havoc Aboard the Halberd" (also referred to by fans as "Taking Over the Halberd") is a musical track that debuted in Kirby Super Star, playing in Revenge of Meta Knight. It is a fast-paced and suspenseful theme that has come to be associated with the Halberd in general, and has reappeared in a few notable Kirby titles since its inception, often paired with its sister track, Boarding the Halberd.

Game appearances

Template:KSS KFP / Kirby Super Star Ultra

As mentioned above, this track can be heard in several places in Revenge of Meta Knight, specifically in the stages following instances of the ship taking damage.

This track can also be heard in Milky Way Wishes, on planet Halfmoon, and in Kirby Super Star Ultra's Revenge of the King, in The Revenge.

Kirby Air Ride

The original version from Template:KSS KFP can be unlocked and then used as an alternate track in Magma Flows.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

The last section of the song is incorporated as part of the song "Vs. Star Dream", used in the fight against Star Dream to denote that the Halberd is involved in the battle.

The original Template:KSS KFP version of the theme plays on Access Ark - Stage 7 EX. It's available as track 132 in the Jukebox.

Kirby Star Allies

The original track of "Vs. Star Dream" accompanies the "Robobot Memories" Celebration Picture, once again featuring the same motif taken from "Havoc Aboard the Halberd". It can be found as Track 149 in the Kirby Star Allies Jukebox as of Version 4.0.0.

A partial remix of both "Vagrant Counting Song of Retrospection" and "Vs. Star Dream" plays when P1 fights Morpho Knight as Susie in Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! and Soul Melter (EX) of The Ultimate Choice. "Havoc Aboard the Halberd" is once again incorporated into the "Vs. Star Dream" part of the remix itself. This medley is named 幼き日に視たデウス・エクス・マキナ (The Deus Ex Machina the Child Saw) in Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack.

The remix is also arranged by Hirokazu Ando and can be found as Track 183 in the Kirby Star Allies Jukebox as of Version 4.0.0.

Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn

While absent from Kirby's Epic Yarn, "Havoc Aboard the Halberd" appears in the 3DS port within the Sub-Game Slash & Bead. It has once again been paired with its companion song Boarding The Halberd.

Super Kirby Clash

A remix of "The Deus Ex Machina the Child Saw" plays during the Super+ Party Quest against Pres. Parallel Susie.

Kirby Fighters 2

In Kirby Fighters 2, "Havoc Aboard the Halberd" is included as part of the medley that plays during the fight against Waning Crescent Masked Dedede & Waxing Crescent Masked Meta Knight.

Super Smash Bros. series

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a jazzy version of this track, titled "Meta Knight's Revenge", is used as a default theme for the Halberd stage, and can also be heard in sections of The Subspace Emissary. Here, it is directly combined with its sister theme, being the first time the two were fused into a single musical track.

This remix along with the Halberd stage reappear in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Other appearances

Havoc Aboard the Halberd has been performed live in the Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert, along with its sibling theme.
