- This article is about the boss battle theme from Kirby's Adventure, and should not be confused with other similarly named boss battle themes.
"Boss"[Japanese title] is the main boss battle theme of Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby battles a familiar boss.
Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land[edit]
The song plays in most boss battles in Kirby's Adventure and Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. In both games, the exception is Nightmare, who has his own theme, and in the remake, King Dedede's battle instead uses an arrangement of "Fountain of Dreams". In addition, exclusively in Kirby's Adventure, the theme plays in Mid-Boss battles against the Meta-Knights.
Kirby: Canvas Curse[edit]
In Kirby: Canvas Curse, a simple remix of the theme plays when battling Kracko or Kracko Jr. in Block Attack. This version is simply named "Kracko" and was arranged by Jun Ishikawa.[1] In addition, the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land version plays in the same sub-game as well as in Paint Panic if the "Old School" setting is on.
Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
The theme is the first of the many boss themes incorporated into the "Boss Theme Medley" of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The medley is one of the default tracks of the Halberd stage, and is arranged by Kentaro Ishizaka.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, a track titled "Ice Cream Island", despite its name, is actually a medley, and features "Boss". It is one of the tracks available to be played in the Dream Land (64) stage. In addition, "Boss Theme Medley" returns as well, also as a default track of the Halberd stage.
Both tracks return in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and like all other Kirby tracks in the game, they can be played on any Kirby series stage, Battlefield, Big Battlefield, Small Battlefield and Final Destination.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]
Kirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake feature remix of this theme paired with "Mid-Boss Battle", which serves as the mid-boss theme for levels located in Popstar. It is named "Fight! Mid-Boss Battle" and was arranged by Jun Ishikawa.
Kirby Fighters Deluxe[edit]
- Main article: History of Dedede
In Kirby Fighters Deluxe, a special retro-style medley of themes related to King Dedede plays when battling Team DDD on the Very Hard difficulty setting. This medley is called "History of Dedede", and includes "Boss" right in the middle. Like all music from Kirby Fighters Deluxe, it was composed by Hirokazu Ando.
Team Kirby Clash Deluxe[edit]
An arrangement of "Fight! Mid-Boss Battle" from Kirby's Return to Dream Land in an acoustic fashion plays in all the normal-rank quests in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, with the exception of Colossal Double-Team, Kracko, and Whispy Woods.
Kirby Star Allies[edit]
In Kirby Star Allies, "Kracko" from Kirby Canvas Curse is reused in Sector C as that stage's mid-boss theme. Additionally, "History of Dedede" plays during the King Dedede fight in Soul Melter and Parallel Dedede's first phase in Soul Melter EX.
Super Kirby Clash[edit]
Super Kirby Clash features a remix of the "Fight! Mid-Boss Battle" arrangement from Team Kirby Clash Deluxe with an electronic spin, which plays in the Colossal Double-Team Story Quest and both the Story and Party Colossal Triple-Team quests.
