Re: Peppermint Palace - Room 2 edit[edit]

Hello Pinkyoshifan! Regarding your latest edit, I just want to argue that this certain Prank in this room doesn't yield any Copy Ability, as it always only drops a banana peel in this case. As far as I can see, a Prank in a certain room either:

I am not sure about ones that yield Copy Abilities, because a Prank that yields a Copy Ability in Peppermint Palace - Room 19 area seem to never yield Fire, while the other one in Peppermint Palace - Room 4 seem to only yield Fire and Ice. And, it seems like Prank only appears in those 5 rooms in the whole game.

As for updating room articles about available Copy Abilities in them, I am not sure about including those of a Prank, as they are not definitive and dependent on RNG, just as Mix can give any Copy Ability if attempted right (and RNG can be manipulated). Therefore, I think it's better to exclude those from the table. --Viperision (talk) 03:24, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

Do all 1 player courses in KDC have 8 holes?[edit]

I plan on doing table like this:

[enemy] locations in Kirby's Dream Course (1-Player Game)
Course Course 1 Course 2 Course 3 Course 4 Course 5 Course 6 Course 7 Course 8
Hole 1
Hole 2
Hole 3
Hole 4
Hole 5
Hole 6
Hole 7
Hole 8
[enemy] locations in Kirby's Dream Course (2-Player Game)
Course Whispy Woods Course Mr. Shine & Mr. Bright Course Kracko Course Gordo Course
Hole 1
Hole 2
Hole 3
Hole 4
Hole 5
Hole 6
Hole 7
Hole 8

...so do they have? Are tables good enough? Superbound (talk) 19:34, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, they all have 8 holes. ---PinkYoshiFan 22:20, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

When moving pages...[edit]

...remember to replace redirects that are left after the move. Special:WhatLinksHere is very useful tool for finding these pages. Additionaly, if you're editing on a computer, you can use built-in text searching function with Crtl+F to find these redirects, and/or set up your css to show redirects in different colors. Also, if the moved page has a talk page, don't forget to tag talk page redirect for deletion. Superbound (talk) 11:04, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Administrator[edit]

Greetings, Pinkoshifan. You've been a consistent and dedicated member of our wiki family for nearly four years, and I thought it was about time you were given some recognition for your quiet and diligent work. On behalf of Gigi, and with her permission, I would like to offer you a promotion to Administrator. This promotion will put you in WiKirby's most senior echelons, granting you the ability and responsibility to do the following:

  1. Protect/unprotect pages: They can lock a page from editing if it is the subject of controversy and edit wars, or if it repeatedly vandalized. User pages are generally not protected barring special conditions.
  2. Delete/undelete pages: They have the ability to delete pages in accordance with the deletion policy. Pages are usually not deleted unless they have no relevance.
  3. Block/unblock users: If a user is deemed to be a vandal or is repeatedly creating conflicts and problems, an administrator can block the user to prevent them from editing. Most blocks are temporary and depend on the length of the offense. For specific policy, see the block policy page.
  4. Hide revisions of a page which are inappropriate: Sometimes, vandals insert swears into articles or create other problems that are inappropriate for viewing. Administrators have the ability to hide these revisions in the history of the page.
  5. Change user rights: Administrators have the ability to grant higher ranks to users up to Patroller. Promotions to Patroller should be verified by Bureaucrats.

This is a big step up, so I will understand if you don't feel ready for the position. Gigi and I believe in you, however. What do you say? --Samwell (talk) 19:12, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

Yes. ---PinkYoshiFan 19:24, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
Alright. :P I will make it so. Congrats! --Samwell (talk) 19:25, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

A not too important question:[edit]

Why are some people called random numbers with dots in-between (e.g. 12.74.74.97.58)? Just wondering.MetaKirbo (talk) 06:17, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
Those are people who edit the wiki without an account, the string of numbers is the contributing user's IP address. ---PinkYoshiFan 14:54, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
Ok.MetaKirbo (talk) 15:31, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

one of my sub-pages[edit]

can you change the name of this page to "User:MetaKirbo/Old Polls"?--MetaKirbo 16:05, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Done. Also, in future you can also change page names yourself with the move button at the top of the page. (Also, moving pages doesn't affect links to the page, although by default a redirect is created so old links still work.) ---PinkYoshiFan 16:10, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
Thank you! =] --MetaKirbo 17:55, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Wikirby safety[edit]

Does Wikirby use doxxing? I hope NOT since I really don't like the idea of someone stealing my E-mail address.--MetaKirbo 16:35, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

The email tied to your account here is only used by the wiki software for notifications (primarily pages on your watchlist being edited) and password resets, you can see those settings in Special:Preferences. That being said, if you use the email another user function then I think it shows your email to whoever you sent that email to. If you don't use the email user function, then there's not a way for another user to see your email. ---PinkYoshiFan 20:39, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

Ok, thank you--MetaKirbo 06:27, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi, sysadmin here. To clarify, the only people who can see your email address are you, me, my sysadmin partner Ampera and users you send email to via the wiki (and you probably don't use this feature). Additionally, the admin who created your account could briefly see it when creating your account after approving your request, but only because we are unable to hide that information on account creation form. However, if you don't feel comfortable having your email address in the system, you may freely remove it in your preferences, it's only mandatory when requesting an account. The only big side effect of doing so is that you will be unable to recover your account if you forget its password, it won't affect contributing in any way. --Soveia (talk) 13:18, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Suggestions for improvement?[edit]

Hey, uhh, i joined the wiki sometime last year(made around 60 or so minor edits), but ive been very inactive over the last couple of months... But now, im hoping to actually become active and contribute and do my duty for the wiki. But i would like to ask for some general suggestions on how to start really getting into the wiki editing, especially in learning to write for the wiki and in finding sources & stuffs. Im not sure where exactly to start besides just doing some archiving of links, and i do feel like i need some guidence in terms of learning to write in the wiki style. So hopefully you'll be able to give some suggestions, but if you'd rather me go ask someone else i will delete this and do so.  :)

Hi, welcome back to the wiki! I know I'm not the one you asked, but I can fill in a bit to help you. You'll want to take a look at Help:Contents, which should tell you pretty much everything you'll want to know about editing WiKirby. From there, it's pretty much up to you whatever you would like to tackle. I'm sure you're aware of WiKirby:Project Clean-Up, but there's also some ideas for things you can help out with on WiKirby:Current events as well. It doesn't have to be anything too major — even just archiving links or fixing typos helps a lot. We're happy to have you here! StarPunch (talk) 22:47, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
Also, for writing in wiki style there is WiKirby:Writing style and WiKirby:Writing specifics. ---PinkYoshiFan 22:56, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for the help, i want to try rewriting a page or something a bit bigger than archiving. Im considering trying my hand at the Kirby fighters page(of course getting the version approved first), but i want to know if i shouldnt, or if there is more info or suggestions for rewriting that article.ConnorExists (talk) 20:39, 4 March 2024 (UTC)ConnorExists
