This article is about a theme from Kirby's Return to Dream Land, and should not be confused with a different theme with the same name from Kirby Mass Attack.

"Woods Wayfarer"[2] (originally known as "Through the Forest"[3]) is a theme which first appeared in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. This theme was composed by Hirokazu Ando.

Composition[edit]

Kirby blasts his foes with the Crackler.

"Woods Wayfarer" is a 4/4 theme that has a BPM of around 145, and is in the key of A minor. The lead instrument for the first portion is played by a square wave, while the second portion is played with a string instrument (most likely a violin or viola).

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Return to Dream Land[edit]

"Woods Wayfarer" debuted in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, heard primarily in Cookie Country - Stage 2 and in the first step of Cookie Country - Stage 3. It can be heard as music 10 in the Sound Test.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]

The original version of the theme is reused in Fine Fields - Stage 6 EX. It can be found as track 067 in that game's Jukebox.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]

The original version, here named "Through the Forest" in the North American version and "Through the Forest (Kirby's Adventure Wii)" in the European and Australian versions, is reused yet again in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, on The Great Cave Offensive stage. Additionally, it is the only track that can play during the Kirby's Crazy Appetite event.

It also appears as an unlockable track in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, named "Through the Forest" in all foreign translations.

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

"Honey Hill" from Kirby Star Allies by Hirokazu Ando.

An orchestral cover of this theme is present in this game, where it plays primarily in Honey Hill. The theme also plays in all Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! routes, in rooms in which the theme originally played in Story Mode. This arrangement is by the original composer, Hirokazu Ando, and can be found as track 009 in that game's Jukebox.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]

"Woods Wayfarer" in "Green Winds Remix" from Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe by Hirokazu Ando.

A remastered version of the theme reprises its role in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. It can be heard as track 11 in the Jukebox.

In addition, an arranged version as part of "Green Winds Remix" with "Beyond the Hill" plays during the stages in the Aerogree Dimension of the Magolor Epilogue. This arrangement was done by Hirokazu Ando.

Other appearances[edit]

A short remix of this theme was featured in Kirby Pupupu Train, and it is included in the Kirby Pupupu Train Eki-melo Collection under the title ウィスピーウッズの森駅 (Whispy Woods Forest Station).

In The Sound of Kirby Café 2, "Woods Wayfarer" is featured in Track 2, "Fruits of the Dancing Forest". It's the second of three songs featured in the medley, the other two of which are "Forest Stage" and "Winds across Earthfall". It was arranged by Yuuta Ogasawara.
