Vegetable Valley - Stage 1 is the first primary stage of Vegetable Valley and thus the first stage of Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. This stage serves as a soft tutorial stage which - while lacking any definite instructions - eases realMe into the scenario and gives them ample space to learn how to guide Kirby on his adventure. There are no Mid-Bosses or Big Switches in this stage.

Overview
Overview
The stage begins in a plains area, with flat terrain leading off to the right. The very first enemy Kirby will encounter is a Waddle Doo, which can be swallowed for the Beam ability. From there, past minor variations in the terrain, Kirby will need to deal with various basic enemies such as Waddle Dees and Bronto Burts. A Sparky can also be found here, if the Spark ability is preferred. A small outcropping emerges along the path, past which, the door to the next area can be accessed once the Hot Head guard is dealt with.
The stage consists of three primary areas. The first takes place in a gentle plains region with few obstacles and a sparse number of enemies. Kirby can encounter the first Copy Ability-granting enemies here; those being Waddle Doo, Sparky, and Hot Head.

Passing through the door leads to a new walkway with sloped terrain and a few fall-through platforms hanging above the path. More enemies appear along the slopes to get in Kirby's way, and there are cavities in the ground where more enemies reside, though these are not a threat. Past a stair-shaped block formation lies a waterfall bridged with a few small blocks. The bottom of the fall serves as the first of many voids in the game, and as such, falling in will cost Kirby one of his lives. Past that, down a small slope lies the door to the next area.
The second takes Kirby past a number of rushing waterfalls, at the bottom of which are the first bottomless pits that can be encountered, though these are easily avoided using Kirby's hover if nothing else. This area also features the first instances of thin floors in the game.

The final area consists of more rocky slopes and fall-through platforms. Up the hill past more enemies, another waterfall can be found, though this time, it leads to a pool with a bottom, where Kirby can practice swimming. A Maxim Tomato is clearly visible at the bottom of the pool, and getting it will restore any and all damage Kirby had accrued up to this point. From there, it's a stroll downhill past more enemies until the stage exit can be found atop a fall-through platform.
In the final room, there is a pool of water along the path, at the bottom of which is the first Maxim Tomato. From there, it's an easy stroll to the stage exit and the Goal Game.

Secret rooms
Secret rooms
There is a secret room accessible from the second area that contains a UFO. The doorway to it is invisible, and can be found in the waterfall.
In the second area, an invisible doorway can be found beneath the leftmost block in the waterfall; in the NES version, its presence is distinguished by the lack of shading beneath the block, while in the GBA version, it's the only block to feature shading under it. Going through this door takes Kirby to a small room with a UFO inside.

Vegetable Valley - Stage 1 is the first primary stage of Vegetable Valley and thus the first stage of Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. This stage serves as a soft tutorial stage which, while lacking any definite instructions, eases the player into the scenario and gives ample room to learn how to guide Kirby on his adventure. There are no Mid-Bosses or Big Switches in this stage.

Overview

The stage consists of three primary areas. The first takes place in a gentle plains region with few obstacles and a sparse number of enemies. Kirby can encounter the first Copy Ability-granting enemies here; those being Waddle Doo, Sparky, and Hot Head.

The second takes Kirby past a number of rushing waterfalls, at the bottom of which are the first bottomless pits that can be encountered, though these are easily avoided using Kirby's hover if nothing else. This area also features the first instances of thin floors in the game.

In the final room, there is a pool of water along the path, at the bottom of which is the first Maxim Tomato. From there, it's an easy stroll to the stage exit and the Goal Game.

Secret rooms

In the second area, an invisible doorway can be found beneath the leftmost block in the waterfall; in the NES version, its presence is distinguished by the lack of shading beneath the block, while in the GBA version, it's the only block to feature shading under it. Going through this door takes Kirby to a small room with a UFO inside.

Trivia

 • Using a very specific set of inputs, it is possible in the original NES version of the game to perform a wrong warp from this stage and end up straight in the game's credits. This glitch became the basis for the 'any%' speedrun category of Kirby's Adventure, with total completion times of less than a minute being the norm.
 • The very first Bronto Burt featured in the stage is actually two Bronto Burts layered on top of each other, most likely by mistake. This can be seen if Kirby inhales the Bronto Burt, as he will then spit out a Blaster Bullet. Alternatively, defeating the Bronto Burt with an attack will result in two sets of death particles appearing.
