Bouncy, originally known as Bouncy Ty (either a pun on "Bouncy Toy" or "Bouncy Time", or simply a misspelling), is an enemy debuting in Kirby's Dream Land 2. She is a pink, springy, toy-like creature that wears a pale red ribbon, has two beady eyes and a red seat above her spring. Hence her name, Bouncy continually bounces, although sometimes she may leap forward attempting to harm Kirby with her spring. Bouncy gives no Copy Ability when inhaled.

Game appearances

Kirby's Dream Land 2

Bouncy Ty first appears in Kirby's Dream Land 2; they are introduced in Grass Land. Bouncy Ty, along with Waddle Dee and Bronto Burt, are the most common enemies in this game.

Locations

Bouncy Ty can be found in the following levels and stages:

Kirby's Dream Land 3

Bouncy also appears in Kirby's Dream Land 3, where their behaviTemplate:Or is basically the same. Like in Kirby's Dream Land 2, they are first seen in this game's version of Grass Land, but they are not very common here.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Bouncy reappears in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, and a mid-boss who is simply a giant version of Bouncy appears in the second stage of Pop Star. The mid-boss has the same behavior as her smaller counterparts; she does not move, but bounces repeatedly in place.

Kirby: Canvas Curse

Bouncy appears again in Kirby: Canvas Curse, behaving the same as in past installments.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land

After a long hiatus, Bouncy returned in Kirby's Return to Dream Land; her behaviTemplate:Or hasn't changed. A new, uncommon enemy named Bouncy Sis is a bigger version of Bouncy that appears alongside their smaller counterparts, resembling the mid-boss from Kirby 64.

Additionally, there is a variant of the Bouncy that lives on Halcandra. It behaves the same, but has a black and white colTemplate:Our motif. Their face is similar to Void Termina's.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

Bouncy returns in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, but only appears in Dedede's Drum Dash as an obstacle to be avoided.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Bouncy returns in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, behaving the same as in past installments. They can be easily defeated by Kirby's dash attack or Bandana Waddle Dee's spear.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

Bouncy returns in Kirby: Planet Robobot, appearing in the Sub-Game Kirby 3D Rumble. They are distinguished from the other targets in that it can avoid projectiles when it bounces.

Kirby Star Allies

Bouncy returns as a common enemy in Kirby Star Allies. They can come in a variety of sizes and speeds. Decabouncies also make their return, but only in Adeleine & Ribbon's Extra Game.

Trivia

  • Bouncy's top half, and Bouncy Sis' by extension, resembles Kirby greatly, except for the bow.
  • In Kirby's Block Ball, Bouncies can get knocked out of their spring, suggesting it is some sort of vehicle, not actually a part of their body.
