This article is about the level in Kirby's Dream Land 2. For the level in Kirby's Dream Land 3, see Iceberg (Kirby's Dream Land 3).

Iceberg is the fourth level in Kirby's Dream Land 2 and, true to its name, is largely a snow and ice level, where Kirby is introduced to the Ice ability. It is also the first level to have more than 4 stages, having 5. When played on a Super Game Boy, the level features an indigo hue and the stage select area sports high-pitched wind noises.[1] The Boss of Iceberg is Ice Dragon. This level follows Ripple Field and is followed by Red Canyon.

Cutscene[edit]

Kine and Rick are positioned opposite Kirby, who is standing between them as they each call for him to join them. Kirby then begins to shiver, and decides to join the decidedly warmer Rick, leaving Kine heartbroken as Kirby waves him goodbye.

Overview[edit]

Iceberg is the first level to increase the number of stages from the previous one; a trend that will continue to the final level of the game. In addition, Iceberg is the first level to feature scattered obstacles suited for all three Animal Friends and as such, Kirby will be switching between them frequently. Iceberg is considerably more dangerous than the previous levels, with plentiful bottomless pits in places, breezy locales, slippery surfaces, and auto-scrolling areas with the potential to crush. Rick's ability to keep his footing on icy surfaces makes him useful in this area.

The Rainbow Drop can be found in Stage 4, though it is fairly tricky to reach, requiring decent knowledge of the physics of Kirby's Dream Land 2. Having Kine is required to obtain this drop.

Stages[edit]

Each stage is unlocked in succession after clearing the previous one. Defeating Ice Dragon is necessary to move on to Red Canyon. For more information about a particular stage, click on the link to the stage's page in the table.
