“ | Helpless, Kirby watches the witch escape... Looking down in shame, he sees the witch's Magical Paintbrush... Kirby touches the rainbow brush and... It transports to you on a ray of light! | ” | — The narrator in Kirby: Canvas Curse |
The Magical Paintbrush (known as the Power Paintbrush in the British English version) is an object which allows the player to draw Rainbow Lines for Kirby Ball and the other characters in Kirby: Canvas Curse. In the opening cutscene, it is initially described as belonging to Drawcia, but after Kirby touches it, it is transported to the player, breaking the fourth wall. The lines drawn by the Magical Paintbrush are used by Kirby to navigate the stages, and can also be used to block harmful hazards like laser beams.
The Magical Paintbrush is described in-game as having sentience, wishing to help Kirby defeat Drawcia and return the world to the way it should be. As such, it helps Kirby navigate without his limbs by painting rainbow lines for him (with the implied help of the player).
