The Mariners are five different types of enemies in Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn that wield several weapons. They all appear only in the Water Land stage Boom Boatyard and are very similar to Soldiers.

Types[edit]

Mariner types in Kirby's (Extra) Epic Yarn
Type Caption Description
KEY Sword Mariner screenshot.jpg
Sword Mariner
"This mariner has a sword. He's clearly under Yin-Yarn's control." The Sword variation of the Mariners wields a sword and, when provoked by Kirby or Prince Fluff, twirls his sword and charges forward, waving it around wildly. Kirby can use his Yarn Whip to grab the sword and throw it back at the Sword Mariner, and any enemy or block behind it.
KEY Spear Mariner screenshot.jpg
Spear Mariner
"This mariner will shish your kebab if you're not careful!" The Spear variation of the Mariners has a long spear that he uses to run into Kirby and stab him, making him lose beads. Like the Sword Mariner, Kirby can grab the Spear Mariner's spear and throw it back.
KEY Cannon Mariner screenshot.jpg
Cannon Mariner
"This mariner has a cannon. Don't take his strange head lightly!" The Cannon variation of the Mariners has a large cannon on his head that he can use to shoot at Kirby or Fluff. Unlike the previous two variations, the Cannon Mariner's projectiles can't be grabbed by the Yarn Whip.
KEY Whistle Mariner screenshot.jpg
Whistle Mariner
"This mariner may try and call for backup troops! That's not good..." When a Whistle type of Mariner sees Kirby, he blows on his whistle and calls other types of Mariners to come and help him. If there is a Whistle Mariner, Kirby has to dispose of it quickly or else there will be more trouble with other Mariners.
"This huge mariner shoots a huge cannon. Steal his huge shots and return huge fire!" The Blast Mariner is a special extra large Cannon Mariner that can be found at the end of Boom Boatyard. He takes three hits to defeat, and will block Kirby's way until he is.
More information about this enemy can be found on the Blast Mariner page.
