Yadgaine[Japanese title], also spelled Yadogaine[from internal data], is a hermit crab-like robot built and controlled by Doc. It appears in Kirby: Squeak Squad as the boss of Jam Jungle. Yadgaine has an insect-like head with a metal cockpit (occupied by Doc) on top and a large claw on either side. Its main body is followed by a large, spiked green shell.
Throughout the battle the entire screen scrolls right, as Yadgaine is at the far left and Kirby must keep up with the movement whilst trying to defeat Yadgaine. Yadgaine attacks by occasionally picking up the pace and dashing forwards whilst throwing rocks at Kirby with its claws or firing lasers at Kirby through its face. As it moves, volcanic rocks fall from the sky, which can be inhaled and spit back at Yadgaine. If Yadgaine takes a large amount of damage, its front claws will break, and it will have to rely on its back legs. At this state, it can no longer throw rocks while dashing forwards. Soon after that, if it takes more damage, its face will be destroyed, preventing it from firing lasers. Kirby must defeat it by using the aforementioned rock method, or attacking it with a Copy Ability in order to defeat it.
Trivia
- The cockpit on top of Yadgaine is visually identical to the one that serves as the core of Mecha-Kracko.
- The sprite of the laser Yadgaine fires is a recolored version of the fully charged laser Laser Kirby shoots with the ability's respective Ability Scroll.
