Nebula Belt is the ninth and final Air Ride course in Kirby Air Ride. As its name suggests, the track itself appears suspended in space. Its basic appearance is that of a simple, multicolored, figure-8 shaped circuit, only housing a group of very few ramps, and Copy Chance Wheels. It is the only available race course with an obvious lack of enemies. This particular track is possibly one of the simplest to complete, the only obstacles being the very few turns and bends encountered. As a result, machines with very high top speeds, such as the Formula Star, perform well here.

This course is the only one which must first be unlocked before it can be played. To unlock it, over 100 laps must be raced by human players in other Air Ride courses (laps completed by each human player counts, which means that doing a 25 lap race with four human players and having each player finish the race is enough to unlock the course in one go). The default amount of laps the racers must complete is 2.

Overview[edit]

The track display of Nebula Belt.

Track[edit]

The course begins as a simple long, straight way, like in a Drag Race, but with much wider roads. Soon, the racers can encounter a Copy Chance Wheel on the ground. If they pass over it, they rapidly scroll through the Copy Abilities in the game, as if they swallowed two enemies with a Copy Ability. By pressing A or waiting, the player stops the scrolling and the Kirby gets a Copy Ability.

Eventually, the racers encounter a gentle turn to the right. After this turn, there is a green ramp to the right, allowing players to glide if they want. Later, to the left, there is another Copy Chance Wheel. This area is another long straight, but not as the long as the previous one. The most complicated turns in the course are soon encountered, with a hairpin turn to the left and shortly, another one to the right. This leads to another straightaway with a ramp on the right and a Copy Chance Wheel on the left. This straightaway is the longest one in the course.

There is a gentle curve to the left, with a Copy Chance Wheel on the left, after this, leading to the straightaway to the end of the lap. At the end of the lap, there is a ramp to the left.

Setting and enemies[edit]

Nebula Belt takes the racers through a space-like environment with multiple planets visible in the distance. Multiple geometric shapes float around the track and the road is holographic allowing the player to see below it.

This course is unique in that it is the only one without any enemies at all, with the only way of getting copy abilities through its multiple Copy Chance Wheels.

Checklist objectives[edit]

Unlike the other courses, and perhaps due to its unlockable nature, Nebula Belt has no checklist objectives devoted specifically to it. This means that the entire checklist can be filled out 100% without ever playing this course.
