Hammer is an item which appears in the Top Ride mode of Kirby Air Ride. It appears randomly during standard races, dropping onto the course. When a racer picks it up, that racer's vehicle will be equipped with a swinging mallet similar in style to that wielded by Hammer Kirby. Any opponent hit by this hammer will be sent flying. While active, the hammer is able to cover all sides of the racer using it as it swings around.
The Hammer can be removed prematurely if the racer is hit, does a Quick Spin, or falls into a stage hazard. The item will also disappear on its own accord about 8 seconds after being picked up.
