The tunnels rejoin on the other side to enter a narrow winding canyon with water running down both sides, where vine rails can be accessed to get through more quickly. From there, the valley opens up to a long series of ramps with Dash Panels on them leading to a waterwheel which gives the racers a huge air lift onto the highest part of the track. After taking a hard left turn on this upper track, the racers slope down to a giant water slide, which can be ridden for a while until reaching the final massive chasm with a vine rail growing out of it. Celestial Valley is the second course in the Air Ride mode of Kirby Air Ride. It takes place in a twilit rugged canyon filled with waterways, deep gorges, and mysterious giant plants, and has a complex branching track with lots of bends and verticality. It is among the longer courses in the game, and the default number of laps run on it is two.

Overview[edit]

The track display of Celestial Valley.

Track[edit]

Celestial Valley's track consists of a wide counterclockwise loop which begins near the lower-right end and has a lot of small eddies among its wider arcs before branching out briefly and then looping on itself after reconvening before reaching the start again. After riding down the initial slope, the racers first encounter a series of water puddles that can slow them down slightly, along with some Dash Panels to power through them. From there, a ramp leads to a straight path under a tree stump, though flying up to the top of the stump yields a Copy Chance Wheel. From there, a few bridges need to be taken to dodge some chasms, one of which is bottomless. The second of these chasms features a bridge with rails on both sides that can be ridden.

From there, after a brief winding path, the racers come across a huge gorge with a waterfall on the other side. Behind this waterfall are three separate tunnels stacked on top of each-other. The higher tunnels contain rails, and the highest one provides the shortest route forward. After this point, the racers return to the finish line and complete a lap to start again.

Setting and enemies[edit]

Celestial Valley is a complex course set within a series of waterways that move through tall rugged canyons and gorges among giant surreal vegetation. The terrain defies gravity in many places, featuring floating masses of rock, much of which makes up the upper parts of the track. Within the tunnels are strange glowing spores that provide light. Many of the waterways have unclear sources (particularly those on the uppermost part of the track). The uppermost part of the track also features large eggs which house bizarre-looking creatures.

The track features a wide array of enemies which concentrate in specific locations. The most common ability-providing enemies to be found here are Plasma Wisps, Flappys, Dales, and Pichikuri. Less common is Chilly, Sword Knight, Balloon Bomber, and Walky. In the Time Attack mode, Gordos appear on the track in relative abundance on the third lap.
